 The Influence of Culture on Human Behavior

Culture is a feature or identifier of a group of people who inhabit in a particular region.

Naturally, this culture arises from acts committed by society over and over again forming a
custom that eventually becomes a culture of a society itself, in other words; culture which
has been formed will enter and rooted in humans life, so without us realize, this culture has
affected humans life. Based on the above illustration, it can be concluded that culture instills
people in behaving. Particularly, people will be brought over by the culture in terms of
behaving in a good or bad manner. Below are some of examples of behaviour that are
culturally influenced: that is in interaction and consumptive behavior.

Firstly, culture affects humans behavior in interacting with others. Nowadays, we have lived
in a highly sophisticated era; consequently, all aspects of this life have been touched by
technology, one of which is communication with mobile phones as its products. This allows
people to use mobile phones or smart phones to communicate, then forming a social media
culture; that is to say, habits in interacting with others have changed humans behavior while
socializing. People now prefer to socialize through social media such as facebook, twitter,
Instagram, and others. As a result, they become passive towards the surrounding
environment.

Secondly, culture affects people in taking decisions of consumption behavior. To illustrate,

the development of industry due to technology makes the company produce its goods in bulk
and relatively cheap. Likewise, it also impacts the change of humans culture which was
originally an agrarian society gradually transformed into an urban society. Therefore, new
values and new lifestyles are createdbecomes urban society. This causes their life needs to
become higher and higher, thus making them continuously purchase products to satisfy the
new cultural needs. In the end, it forms consumptive society, the people who always consume
goods or services.

Based on the above description, it can be concluded that culture affects human life in
socializing, and creating consumptive society. Therefore, culture cannot be separated from
humans life. Because culture will always evolve, human behavior will also develop as well.
