Dear SAP Gurus,

I known many people have asked this question before. But there weren't any replies for

Hi AD,

I have created 2 hierarchy nodes and created an hierarchy throught VDH1n. Now I am
assigning customers to each node in the hierarchy.

When I create a sales order for customer at the lower-level hierarchy, I want the
customer assigned at hierarchy level 1 to flow as partner function on Sales Header.
And then I want to use this partner for reporting purpose... Let me know if this helps.

Or in more simplified terms, I found this sap help material for customer hierarchy and
am trying to implement the same standard settings (but with 2-level hierarchy)

hi srini,

Please try OMSY after deleting comp code and plant assignment in OX18. After u
change the posting periods in OMSY, please assign back the comp code and plant
assignments.

Adriano replied Feb 8, 2012 1

Explorer,
What I did in past was created a hierarchy nodes in customer account group 0012
(hierarchy node) and lower level customer in account group 0001 (Sold-to). Then I
assigned lower level customer created in 0001 account group to the one created in
0012 through T-code VDH1N. VDH1N established parent child relationship. This
assignment resolved my reporting requirement.
In your case, it looks like you are assigning multiple children to a parent.

In standard config, I could not find 1A-1D partner functions available at customer
master partner determination. I assigned 1A to the procedure and also assigned 1A
partner function (1A = parent level partner from 0012 account group) to the child
customer. But 1A function is not flowing to the sales order.

So, partners need to be determined at sales order level automatically.

Let's wait other experts suggestion.

AD

Srini, please create new thread for new posts.

Hi,

For the posting period problem please try the trx. Code MMRV & change your comp.
code's posting period from 11/2012 or 12/2012 to the current period.

Thanks and regards,

Kumar

Have you used VOPAN Tcode to ensure 1A is set as requisite Partner against
document type as well
Unless you have set up 1A as partner against sales order/ item type and defined copy
roles for it you will not see a partner in sales order.

sapexplorer6 replied Feb 10, 2012 1

Thanks AD for looking into the hierarches. And yes you are correct I want to assign
multiple children to parent.

I was able to solve this. 1A-1D are standard partner functions. But they are no required
on customer master. These customers hould be defined on partner determination
procedure for sales order.

I was missing a configuration setting Assign Hierarchy Type for Pricing by Sales
Document Type. Even though if hierarchy is not to be utilized for pricing but for
hierarchy customer to be determined on partner function, this particular setting is to be
maintained.
So, just created the required nodes, customer masters. Next use VDH1N to assign the
customers in hierarchy. After that, whenever a sales document is created, the partner
function is auto determined.

Hi Explorer,

I am just interested in the data set up and the process related with hierarchy.

I also did the following settings but partners are not determined at sales order. Will you
please help on this?

- Created a parent at Z012 account group (Hierarchy node), say customer 100
- Created a child at Z001 account group (to use as sold-to), say customer 101
- In VDH1N, I assigned hierarchy type 'A' with 101 as lower level child and 100 as
higher level parent.
- In SPRO-->SD-->Master data-->Business partners-->Customers-->Customer
hierarchy-->Assign customer hierarchy type for pricing by sales document, I assigned
hierarchy type 'A' to my document ZOR.
- Partner determination procedure for for ZOR is TA which already includes 1A-1D
partner functions.

But, when I create sales order ZOR with 101 as sold-to, I don't see any hierarchy
functions in the order. What I am missing?

Sumit Jain replied Feb 11, 2012 1

Hi Adriano,

Did you assign the newly created Account Group Z012 to the partner functions 1A to
1D. Please check this as this should resolve your issue.

Regards,

Sumit

Adriano replied Feb 11, 2012 1

Thank you Sumit. Great!

Previously, I had assigned only '1A' in Z012. After assigning all 1A to 1D, it pulled my
parent customer 100 as '1D' hierarchy partner of 101 in the sales order. Since, I have
only one hierarchy, I am expecting 1A type of partner function. Is there any way I can
assign 1A instead of 1D?
Thanks

sapexplorer6 replied Feb 13, 2012 1

Adriano,

If you look at the partner function definition in partner procedure determination, there's
a field called "Superior Partner Function". In standard configuration, the superior
partner function for 1A -> 1B, 1B -> 1C,.. and so on.. As a result the system tracks it all
the way upto 1D. If you change this superior partner definitions, then the partner
function being determined on sales document will change.

So, if you make the superior partner function for 1A as blank, then 1A type of partner
function will be determined.

This is how it can be implemented through configuration.. But can you explain what's
the business requirement for determining 1A type of partner function?

Thanks
