Specialism
Aviation Engineering with Pilot
Studies BEng/MEng
This course integrates basic flying training with all of
the technical subjects needed to become an aeronautical
engineer, including an understanding of the aviation
industry and how it works.
It is the ideal starting point to train as a professional pilot and
acquire your NPPL.
In 2015 the additional fee for Pilot Studies is 2,985. This
covers the first 15 hours of flight training with a qualified
flying instructor, and transport to and from the airfield during
the first year. After you complete the first 15 hours of flight
training, it will be your responsibility to liaise with the flying
school to obtain your licence.

Flight training
As an Aviation Engineering with Pilot Studies student
youll carry out your flying training on a Cessna 152 two-
seater single engine piston aircraft with Booker Aviation at
Wycombe Air Park, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire every
Wednesday during term-time.
You will need 32 hours of flight training for your NPPL which
you should be able to acquire by the end of your first year.
Brunels engineering flight simulator is available for extra
practice flights and the experienced team here will support
your learning in every way we can.
