Tax Receipts
Tax Receipts will provide a detailed receipt once per year and will be mailed out or

handed to the client by the end of February as per the law.

If any other copies or a replacement of the receipt are needed, there is an administration

fee of $20 per receipt.

The client is responsible to provide the daycare in writing any changes to their address.

Fee Policies

All Tuition Fees, Enrollment Fees, Holding Fees, and other Daycare Fees, once paid, are

non-refundable.

If you withdraw from the daycare before care has started, the fees paid are non-

refundable.

All enrollment fees are non-refundable and can go toward your last two weeks of care

that has ALREADY COMMENCED, and/or to cover any other expenses depending on

termination (see termination section of the hand book for more details).

All fees are to be paid in the correct amount. All money given to the provider over and

above any of the fees, will be considered a donation to the Daycare and are non-

refundable and no receipt will be given.

The provider holds the right to increase all fees (excluding tuition fees) at any time with a

two-week written notice.

The provider holds the right to increase tuition fees at the time of contract renewal.
Growing Stars Child Care Handbook 5

Tuition fees can be paid anytime during the scheduled pay week, as long as they are paid

in full by the scheduled pay date and time. EX: If scheduled pay is on Thursday at 5pm,

then you can pay between Monday and 5pm on the Thursday.

Fees

Late Payment Fees

$20.00 per day/child (including weekends/Holidays) that payment is not received. Therefore, if

the fee is not paid by 5:00 pm on the Thursday, a late fee of $20.00/day will be due with your

payment. Continued late payments will result in termination of our agreement. Your child may

NOT attend daycare until fees have been received. You have to pay for the days your child

misses due to non-payment in order to hold your spot.

Late Pick Up Fees

If you arrive after the scheduled pick up time, there will be a charge of $1.00 per minute/child.

This is to be paid by E.M.T. within 3 days of having received your bill and is to be paid separate

from your tuition fees. Care will be suspended until payment is made. You will be charged up to

the minute you leave (not when you arrive). I will give you your official bill the next day of care

or it will be emailed to you. This fee also applies if you are in the daycare with your child after I

close. Make sure you are here in time to get your child ready and ask any questions you might

have.

If you are more that 1 hour late without contacting me, I will call your emergency contacts. If I

am unable to reach anyone to pick up your child, I will consider it an emergency and contact

Child Services and/or the police.

Growing Stars Child Care Handbook 6

Methods of Payment

Payment is to be made by electric money transfer (E.M.T.). Sorry, Cheques or Cash are not

accepted.

Electric Money Transfer (E.M.T.): All E.M.T.'s must be received by 5:00pm on the scheduled

pay day. E.M.T.'s can take a while to go through, please send the E.M.T. the night before or

In the event of severe weather, it may be necessary to keep the centre closed for the day. If the

Peel District School Boards have closed their schools in the area, Growing Stars Child Care will

also be closed. To find out if the School Board is closed, please listen to 680news am radio, or

Breakfast Television (channel 57 cable 7 or CP24) by 6:30 am.

As this is an emergency situation, full fees are still in effect.

The Daycare will strive to stay open until 5:00pm during stormy conditions with the

understanding that if parents are able to pick up their child early, they will do so.

Any closures will be announced on growingstarschildcare.weebly.com

Damages

It is expected that your child be respectful of my personal/daycare property and furnishings. A

certain about of "wear and tear" is normal but if your child intentionally damages my property

through destructive behaviour, roughness, or due to a breach of one or more of my policies listed

in this agreement or on the daycare website, you will be liable for 100% of the replacement
Growing Stars Child Care Handbook 7

costs. This reimbursement would be due within a reasonable time frame determined by the

provider. If we end up in court over money (payment for services, reimbursement costs, etc.) all

court fees are the responsibility of the clients (parents).

Daycare Closures

A burned-out provider or a sick provider is a dangerous provider. A provider needs time off

throughout the year and when sick, (for such illnesses such as the flu) to insure she is well rested

and well enough to ensure the safety of the children in her care.

Scheduled Days Off

You will be given at least three (3) weeks' notice. It is the parent's responsibility to find back up

care.

Scheduled days off include, but not limited to:

Christmas

The Days Off Due to Illness/Emergency Days

These are taken as needed. It is the parent's responsibility to find back up care. Please note that

illness of myself or my family can come on suddenly leaving very little notice; if any. If I or my

family have a simple cold, the daycare will remain open.
