PIZZA IN THE PARK and lots of fun park activities Tuesday, July 25 from 6-7:30 PM. Each
family attending should bring a pizza to share. Fellowship Life will provide cups, plates,
water, and some games. Or BYOB (beverage) and activity. Look for the yellow windsock (at
a shelter close to the playground). See you there!

Clare and Lonnie Kleensang have been
experiencing medical difficulties and expenses.
Lonnie is currently at Madonna Rehab in
Lincoln. Clare is making trips to Madonna
approximately twice weekly. To help defray
their expenses, there has been an envelope
placed in the office where donations can be
given to help them. If you wish to give, please
stop in the office or mark an amount on an
envelope and place the envelope with the money
in the offering plate. We pray for consistent
recovery.

favorite beverage & snacks, and join your
St. Johns family under the yellow windsock for a
free evening of fun & fellowship. All ages
welcome! Next concert date: August 3.
July 25th: Pizza in the Park at Skyview Lake.
6-7:30 PM. Bring a pizza to share and any games
you might enjoy at the park. Look for the yellow
windsock close to the north playground.
July 28th: Mercy Meals Fundraiser
at 2006 Hillview Drive from 7-10 PM.
Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a concert
by Bennie and the Jets, a Tribute to Elton
John. Advance tickets $50. One hundred
percent (100%) of ticket sales goes directly
toward the purchase of the raw materials needed
to pack Mercy Meals. For more information and

St. Johns will again be
building a peanut butter
pyramid in support of the
Norfolk Food Pantry. It is
our privilege to staff the
pantry each September
under the supervision of
Shirley Frowick. Please plan ahead to
volunteer to help out during September.
God's Work Our Hands Sunday, September 10
Mark your calendar and participate! We need
EVERYONES PRAYERS and HELP . There
will be a huge variety of service project
activities. Also if you need a yellow t-shirt, we
will be ordering them. Deadline to order shirts
is Friday, Aug. 4. Cost is $10/shirt prior to
ordering. Order forms/envelopes are available
at the back of the sanctuary. Fill out the form
with your name and T-shirt size and place in the
envelope with your $10. Drop in the offering
plate or at the church office.
NOTE: If there are individuals in the
congregation that need yard work or inside
small repairs/cleaning that can be completed in a
couple hours, please call the church and Mission
Life will contact them. These would be service
projects for September 10th.
BRIGHT HORIZONS ANNUAL GARAGE SALE

Dont miss out on this yearly event! From
your smallest treasures to your larger items,
we will be accepting donations in the
Fellowship Hall on Wed., July 19 (noon
7pm) and Thurs., July 20 (9am - noon). No
adult clothing, please, but childrens
clothing is accepted. All proceeds will go to
Bright Horizons, resources for survivors of
domestic violence and secual assault. The
community looks forward to this annual
event and always comments on the nice
quality of our items. Thank you in advance
for your continued support for this
organization.
The Garage Sale Gang

A Prayer Tree has sprouted near the front of

St. Johns worship space. From now until
November, everyone is encouraged to take
a leaf from a sanctuary table, write your
prayer concerns or joys on it, and place your
prayer leaf in one of the clips on the
branches of the tree. This spiritual prayer
practice will serve as a visible reminder of
the prayers that we share as our
worshipping community at St. Johns.

Parents, Grandparents, and neighbors of
3-year-olds to second graders, your kids are
invited to a 3-day Vacation Bible
School, Monday, July 31st,
and Tuesday, August 1st! At Camp Out VBS,
kids trek through an outdoor adventure -
minus the bug spray and lack of sleep! We
will start both days with a family supper,
5:30 to 6:00 p.m. From 6:00 to 8:15 p.m.,
they will discover that Jesus is the light of
the world through an outdoorsy camping
adventure. During the two short days at
Camp Out VBS, they will learn that Jesus,
God's Son, lights the way through the
adventure of life. This VBS is filled with
Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear,
and touch. Then, families, friends and guests
are invited to a closing celebration
on Wednesday, August 2nd at 5:30 p.m.
After the program, please join us for a cook
out serving BBQ pork sandwiches and hot
dogs. Please contact the church office if you
plan to attend. Also, please indicate on the
bulletin register if you would like to
volunteer to help.
Information about how you can volunteer
to help is located in the back of the
sanctuary.
JUNE COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS
The Council members of St. Johns had the
opportunity to meet with Pastor Megan Morrow
from the Nebraska Synod to review the plan for
continued pastoral care during the summer
months and moving forward with an interim
pastor in the near future.
Denny Braesch from the Property
Committee met with the council to review the
recommendations from the recent safety tour
with Terry Zoebel. Look for updated signage,
repairs to the emergency lighting system of the
building and return of the AED to the sanctuary.
Thank you Property Committee for your work in
keeping St. Johns a safe environment for us
all.
The St. Johns Council members appreciate
the dedication of the Call Committee and
support their work in the call process. The call
committee has completed the annual update of
St. Johns Ministry Site Profile. We continue to
pray for success in the coming of a new Senior
Pastor.

We realize that plans do
change. However, we ask that
groups let the office know in
advance if meetings or events
are cancelled or postponed. In
that way, air conditioning or
heating systems can be shut
off and rooms may be
reserved for other activities if
