BASIC COMMANDS IN AUTOCAD AND ITS FUNCTIONS:

AutoCAD COMMANDS FUNCTION


LINE Create a series of contiguous line segments. Each
segment is a line object that can be edited
separately.
TRIM Trim object to meet the edges of other objects.
CIRCLE Create a circle.
EXTEND Extend object to meet the edges of other objects.
ARRAYRECT Create a rectangular pattern of object
ARRAYPOLAR Create a circular pattern of object
COPY Create a copy of an object
MOVE Move an object
ROTATE Rotate an object
MIRROR Create a mirrored copy of an object
ERASE Delete an object
EXPLODE Breaks an object into its component object
LAYERS Open the layer properties windows. Manages
layers and layer properties.
CHAMFER Bevels the edges of an object
FILLET Rounds the edges of objects
ZOOM The zoom command enlarges or reduces area of
the drawing on your screen. Use the Zoom
command when you want to enlarge something on
the screen so that you see the details clearly.
SCALE Enlarges or reduces selected objects, keeping the
proportions of the object the same after scaling.
SKETCH You can make a freehand sketch using this
command. You can use Line, Polyline or Spline as
the object type for making this freehand sketch.
MULTIPLE If you want to repeat any command without
pressing enter key then use MULTIPLE command.
To cancel repetition of command press ESC key.
BREAK This command can be used to break 2D geometries
at one or two points. It is helpful if you want to
break a curve at the point of intersection with
other curve or if you want to create a gap by
breaking a part of the geometry.

G GROUP / Creates and manages saved sets of
objects called groups
H HATCH / Fills an enclosed area or selected objects
with a hatch pattern, solid fill, or gradient fill
I INSERT / Inserts a block or drawing into the current
drawing
J JOIN / Joins similar objects to form a single,
unbroken object
L LINE / Creates straight line segments
M MOVE / Moves objects a specified distance in a
specified direction
O OFFSET / Creates concentric circles, parallel lines,
and parallel curves
