 Is Pakistan The Same As America?

With reference to the recent terrorism attacks having occurred throughout Pakistan, all borders
including the two major ones; Torkham and Chaman linking with Afghanistan have been sealed
for the sake of national security. Although it is completely understandable to why such measures
were taken, the question does arise to whether these actions in any way resemble those plotted to
be carried out by the newly introduced government in The United States of America.

On glancing at the situation from afar it may seem that both countries do aim to prevent
neighboring citizens from entering their respective lands on the basis of claims regarding a threat
to the public, whether its economy or its safety. But do these actions in actual depth carry the
same objective?

It has been a long fight for Pakistan to minimize terrorism attacks and eradicate any possible
linkage to such groups over the course of time regardless of the successes and failures it faced
during these times. It so forth does justify the prevention of more possible incidents by closing
down the concurrent ties with Afghanistan as it has been a major gateway for these groups to
enter and disrupt the peace of the nation. When countless lives are at stake, drastic measures
need be taken.

Though what these actions dont justify are the numerous problems innocent people are facing
aiming to seek refuge from violence and terrorism being carried out in Afghanistan itself and
find closure on Pakistani grounds. Nor do they justify the difficulties families are having to
endure not being able to return to what they call home. This exact point is what may link our
safety measures to those of the new American government. In attempt to minimize one problem,
certain factors simultaneously, adversely affect the same people it was intended for.

This still does not mean that they carry the same objective, but just similar strategies in order to
achieve possibly different goals. It all comes down to intent where America may perhaps be
aiming for a different outcome than Pakistan.

History can verify that Pakistan has always been welcoming to Afghani refugees in search for a
better, more peaceful living. Though at this particular point in time, enough evidence has been
collected to take effect against Afghani extremists who are responsible for the recent attacks.

Conclusively, regardless of any similarity in political strategy with the United States, protection
of the masses are our primary concern as humans and finding a long term, effective solution to
eliminate terrorism globally is always a priority.
