Scholarship Program

1. Applicants who do not have TOPIK Certificate over level 3

a. Korean language course (1 year) + Undergraduate course (General or transfer admission)

b. Taking Korean class for 1 year (starting from early April of 2013)

obtaining TOPIK Certificate over level 3

Applying for 2014 Spring Semester undergraduate admission

(starting from early March of 2014)

2. Applicants who have TOPIK Certificate over level 3

a. Undergraduate course (General or transfer admission)

b. Applying for 2013 Fall Semester undergraduate admission

(starting from early September of 2013)

Provided Scholarship :

1. Full Tuition Fee Exemption

2. Living expense support : 200,000 KRW per month (Approx. US$180)

General Qualification for Application

1. Nationality holder from PCU 41 Strategic Countries

2. Applicant and his/her parents must have foreign citizenships against Korean

3. Applicant must hold an accredited high school diploma


4. Applicant must have a GPA (Grade point average) of at least 80% points/grades/marks/

scores out of 100% from the previously attended institution. (High school, college,

university)

a. If the transcript is not indicated in points/grades/marks/scores format, or is difficult

to convert into percentages, attachment of official explanation from the head/principal/

president of the attended institution is required.

b. Second option : Official letter from the head/principal/president of the attended

institution that reveals the applicants points/grades/marks/scores rank is within 10%

from the top. ( GPA : Grade Point Average)

Selection Schedule

1. Applicants who do not have TOPIK Certificate over level 3 (JGSP 1-1, 1-2)

a. Application Period : February 4 ~ 15, 2013

b. Announcement of successful candidates (via e-mail) : February 22, 2013

c. Sending out (post mail) certificate of admission & scholarship, invitation letter :

February 25 ~ 27, 2013

d. Entry into Korea (Suggest arrival period at Pai Chai University) :

March 27 ~ 28, 2013 (PCU dormitory check-in and orientation)

e. Class starting date of Korean language course (PCU ECKFL April Semester) :

April 1, 2013

2. Applicants who have TOPIK Certificate over level 3 (JGSP 1-3, 1-4)

a. Application Period : July 8 ~ 19, 2013

b. Announcement of successful candidates (via e-mail) : July 26, 2013

c. Sending out (post mail) certificate of admission & scholarship, invitation letter :

July 29 ~ 31, 2013

d. Entry into Korea (Suggest arrival period at Pai Chai University) :

August 28 ~ 29, 2013 (PCU dormitory check-in and orientation)

e. Class starting date of undergraduate course (PCU 2013 Fall Semester) :

September 2, 2013
Obligation for the Korean language course scholars

1. All scholars basically take 1 year of Korean language course.

2. Only the scholars who pass at least Level 3 of TOPIK during their study period of

Korean language course are permitted to start their undergraduate course.

3. Scholars who do not pass Level 3 of TOPIK in 1 year, they may extend their Korean

study period,

- up to additional 6 more months (Scholars who pass Level 1 of TOPIK)

- Total 1 year and 6 months study of Korean language

4. Scholars who do not pass Level 3 of TOPIK in 18 months will be disqualified from the

scholarship program.

Scholarship Suspension & Cancellation of Scholarship

If you are found to be engaged in any of the following activities during your stay at PCU,

your scholarship shall be suspended or the scholarship provided to you must be returned to

PCU and you will be deported back to your country.

1. When any statement made on any of the application materials are proved false and

qualification are proved lower than required.

2. When the scholar not abide by all conditions and regulations of Pai Chai University.

3. When the scholar fail to maintain 2.0 (out of 4.5) of his/her points/grades/marks/scores,

scholarship will not be provided for the next semester.

4. Scholar must obtain level 4 of TOPIK during the study period to graduate Pai Chai

University.

All documents should be written in English OR Korean.

- Document that is not in English OR Korean MUST be ACCOMPANIED by a complete


English OR Korean translation authenticated by the issuing institution or an official notary

office.

Documents should be presented in their original form.


- Document that is not original (a copy of the original) must have a stamp on it (or attach

an additional letter) which indicates the issuing institution approves the copy has the same

effect as the original.

Copies of applicants and his/her parents alien Registration Card

- Additional submission only for who are living in Korea.

Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant.
