Line Item Selection

A) Fast-track Mode

1) Fast-track line item selection mode is used for selecting line items based on basic valve attributes
like Type, Body form, Class, Size, Class, Material, Trim and End connection
2) Values of other attributes are considered to be standard values or default values for particular type
of valve
3) Line items matching the selected attributes are displayed and user can select one from the list
4) In case specific item code (IN code) is known, then entering the item code will display the
attribute values for the code entered.
5) Selected line item can be saved under currently open quotation.
6) Additional information like Design Pressure, Flow Rate and temperature can also be entered but
this is used as added information but has no effect on the valve selection
7) Subsequently GA drawing can be generated and price calculated for the selected line item
B) Configurable Mode

1) Configurable mode selection is used for user specified values of all attributes
2) In addition to attribute values captured in Fast-track mode, detailed valve configuration captures
attributes in the following groups
a. Valve Data - Valve Type, Body Form, Class, Size, MOC etc. (Fast-track attributes)
b. Quality Level - CE marking, NACE, RT, UT etc.
c. Operator Combination - HW, MOV, GB etc.
d. End Connection - Inlet SCH, Outlet SCH, Inlet OD etc.
e. Body Execution - Drain plug, Drain Stub etc.
f. Other Attributes - Stem Special, Disc Special, and Stem Cover etc.
3) Configurable mode facilitates definition of up to 15 custom adders. These are not part of standard
attribute list these are customer specific attributes which do not have any effect on line item
selection. These have impact on pricing
4) On saving the configuration, Line item code is retrieved if it is available otherwise dummy code
is assigned.
5) In case specific item code (IN code) is known, then entering the item code will display the
attribute values for the code entered.
6) Additional information like Design Pressure, Flow Rate and temperature can also be entered but
this is used as added information but has no effect on the valve selection
7) Subsequently GA drawing can be generated and price calculated for the selected line item
8) Configurable mode also allows selection of actuator in case the valve operation is MOV i.e.
Motor Operated Valve
9) Required torque, thrust and lift are calculated and then suitable actuator can be selected based on
these
Note: All the attribute values are selectable (i.e. not enterable) from the list of values. List of values
for each attribute is populated based on the value selected for the previous attribute
