Juan C. Dela Cruz was born in Malate, Manila on the 1st day of January, 1996. He is
the third of the five children of Mario A. Dela Cruz and Maria T. Castro. They are presently

and his high school education in 2013 at Tagaytay City National High School. At present, he

INTRODUCTION

The Bachelor of Science in Biology program of Cavite State University is designed
arm the students with skills necessary to provide extension services to various clienteles and
to prepare them in conducting basic and applied researches relevant to college thrust (Cavite
State University website). As part of its curriculum, junior standing students are required to
undergo an On-the-Job Training (OJT) program for 160 hours within the months of June and
July. This gives students the chance to apply theories, ideas and skills obtained from the
University to an actual work setting. This can also let them experience career realities, using
real tools, equipment, and documents, that can serve as training ground for them to become

but also to the companies that provide opportunities for this type of learning. There is
wisdom in the front lines. Such training can be an investment that will be valuable to the
company later on. This is also why trainees should take it seriously as it can become a
powerful tool and possibly even a source of recommendation when they take that big lift

Significance of OJT
Undergoing an On-the-Job Training entails a number of benefits not only to the part
OJT is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career but
also to let them experience career realities, using real tools, equipments and documents; that
can serve as training ground which can help them to become professionals in their respective
fields.
On the other hand, an effective OJT program also benefits the companies who
accommodate trainees by providing additional manpower for a lesser or no labor cost at all.
Trainees can also bring fresh ideas into the institution by speaking their minds freely and
without fear, thus, may able to contribute significantly to help improve the productivity of the
company.
Based on the performance, behavior and attitude exhibited by the student during
his/her training, the company may then offer or absorb him/her for a job. Additionally, this
may also serve as a powerful source of recommendation in giving the student a great job after
