grote invloedrijke gebeurtenissen:
b) De Franse Revolutie[8];
veronderstelde men een gewelddadige ommekeer.
hervormingen ontwikkelt.

There are no absolute truths. The astronomers had to change the laws of gravity
because there was an error. The scientific work of systematization is only the beginning. It
is a great rarity in the social sciences that the theory can predict the course of events. In
the social field, we still groping in the dark without any scientific certainty. Therefore our
theories should not be too scary, they must show great potential. We must enrich
ourselves with the ideas of great thinkers, not to answer them all, but there is a theory to
derive consistent with our temperament. Between the different learning systems is one
that has had a great influence, which is Marxism .
Which are to serve the causes of the success of a theory and to what extent is Marxism
still allow us in practice of the labor movement as a leader? The greatest feature of
Marxism is its malleability. From 1847 to Marx's death this theory [is] able to adapt with
extraordinary agility to social evolution. This teaching is a challenge to the citizenry. The
proletariat she exhorts, to continue the work of the bourgeoisie. This theory takes into
account three major influential events:
Followed by the theoretical considerations which form the main component of the
classical English political economy.
As Hegel [12] Marx believed that the ideas and contradictions constituted the
synthesis. So he believed that the internal contradictions of the capitalist system would
cause the collapse of the regime and would allow a new society. By classical economics,
Marx is possible to show how the proletariat victim of exploitation. The idea of the
revolution, Marx draws the idea of the proletarian revolution. Marx had great confidence in
the very near revolution. He regarded the French Revolution as a sole means of historical
progress. He came to the conclusion that history is a succession of class struggle and that
today the proletariat would have to take control of the regime.
This fight is different from all the former because it will not be a fight in which the
victorious class will suppress the vanquished, it will be a struggle for the emancipation of
all mankind. It is the workers' movement which must lead the fight. This fight wearing a
political nature, should aim the conquest of political power by the proletariat.
The circumstances of the conquest will be different according to the countries. Here
you will come to her by violent means, there by the play of parliamentary work. It is this
conquest that the working class aims. The proletariat can only conquer this power when it
acquired its full class consciousness. This conquest is like a historical mission of the
proletariat.
In 1848 Marx still believes in a revolutionary reversal of the social system. More and
more he starts to believe in the adequacy of slow reforms and in 1872 he was convinced
that victory can be achieved by legal means.
Up here the main ideas involving Marxism. It is not everything, but if it were a schedule.
We now let go of the theory to look at the main characteristics of the labor movement in
practice and to what extent they conform to the schedule given by Marx.
One has since 1848 sought the labor movement to base new bases ?
It has tried to base socialism on psychological and ethical principles, but have yielded
such efforts have not many results yet. The psychological basis is too uncertain, too
changeable. The psychology is scientifically still underdeveloped. In science it is
necessary to replace the unknowns by known factors. We do not yet certain, fixed
psychological laws found
Freud [13] share of psychology is certainly interesting, but certainly not enough to
serve as a basis already.
It is wrong to ask this question so. All mass movements like on the moral appeals, but
there is still a material basis. Let us take an example from the history of
Christianity. Before the people speak about the soul, Christ is engaged to provide the
material goods. Christ multiplied the loaves. We see the same during the
Reformation. [14] The first monks the people speak only about their real
necessities. Later one makes about moral theories. If socialism would come, abstract and
pure to proclaim moral principles, it is to be feared that would dissipate the initial
enthusiasm. The workers' organizations have extremely expanded. Outside the state they
never saw such a great group of people. There is a certain tendency towards unity. In the
beginning only loose groups, emerges more and more sharply off a movement towards
concentration. The union ceases to be local and begins to extend into all branches of
industry. This movement towards concentration seems insufficient and it already provides
the time that one will get a final unit.
At the same time we notice how a collaboration between trade unions and other
workers' movements is getting bigger and more intense. The fact is evidently proving the
objective unity of the labor movement. What is the deep cause of this development? It lies
in the evolution of the industry. The struggle of the workers against their masters is
condemned in advance if the working masses are not organized. The victory can be
achieved only jointly. A strike is never spoke a few. There is cooperation between all labor
forces. A strike brings the entire labor movement in motion. It is the general struggle for
proletarian law, the political struggle so that propels the unit. It's no mere coincidence that
where the labor movement would carry no politics, they do, but in the corridors of
parliament, be it in the Economic Council of the League of Nations. This rapprochement
between unions and political groups is not a coincidence. When it comes to set the eight-
hour day, it is difficult to distinguish between economic and political action. The same is
true when it comes to the evolution law of the workers.
Collective agreements and universal suffrage are the two most powerful weapons of
the proletariat .
More and more get the collective agreements the force of law. In Germany there is no
difference anymore between collective agreements and ordinary laws.
The collective agreement is not a contract, it's a set of rules and regulations to which
workers and patrons submit. It not only seeks to determine wages, but also the
participation of the workers in the drafting of labor and production conditions. The
collective agreement allows the democratization of the industry. As can be seen tending
today the political action of the proletariat to the imposition of laws. To this end uses the
one hand, the old methods of democracy, ie the legislative action, on the other hand bring
collective conventions. More and more democracy in the working conditions
penetrates. Between socialism and democracy there is agreement. Together they form
the perfect and overall shape of the labor movement. The goal of the labor movement is
to set the political and economic democracy . The trade union and political effort trying to
joint management by workers and employers. The workmen can make only a portion of
the entitlement management. The intervention of the pattern is justified by the fact that he
represents the consumers. There is now no other system where the users themselves to
defend their own interests, or where the interests of consumers in line with those of the
originators?
Producers and consumers have seen the same people from different point of
view. Collective agreements may allow us to significantly expand democracy in the
production process and to be represented all the major interests therein. Only democracy
is able to assure us victory of reason. Already at the time Marx Communist Manifesto
designed to democracy was the goal of the labor movement. Even today still democracy
is the goal of the labor movement. If socialism wants to conquer the world it will only be as
long as it remains the champion of democracy. We have seen how the labor movement
has a tendency towards unity. We also see another movement, more and more socialism
begins to extend to the total of the workers. In the beginning organizes only a handful of
specialized workers, then the socialist movement extends to the entire working
class. Socialism has the servants and officers drawn to him. The ranks broaden under the
influence of a rising proletarisation. Intellectuals, scholars, professors join the
movement. Science requires costly instruments that only big business can provide it. The
pressure of capital becomes more and more intolerable, and so we see join the
intellectuals in the ranks of the labor movement to preserve their freedom and to continue
their scientific work independently. The influence of big business also occurs more and
more felt in the industry where it is unbearable. Socialism is somewhat lost because it
defended only the particular interests of the workers and neglected the more general
interest. Humanity must organize itself under the sign of labor. Socialism must all defend
people.
The more socialism develops, the more need to mix it in all areas of daily life. Wherever
socialism develops powerful and is used all means to introduce improvements with regard
to the socialist ideal. Socialism has embarked on the path of reformism. When we spoke
earlier of establishing a new social order, one assumed a violent reversal. Should one
conclude from the reformist view that the former socialists were wrong? One must give up
the hope of a radically new world? Should the conclusion of all reformist considerations
that have undermined the revolutionary tradition? Some comrades believe Drawing on
biology, on an uninterrupted, continuous evolution. We are in a period of uncertainty in
which no certain theory provides an infallible information. The evolution of socialism is
largely an abnormal evolution. Socialism has significantly incorporated in the course of
history. The working class has suddenly acquired by the war an extraordinary great
power, on the other side, the influence of the banks is becoming increasingly
important. Since the war rocks the world between these two major influences. The labor
movement has suddenly acquired a power that may not be consistent with its degree of
maturity. This new state is not obtained by a gradual way, but suddenly. The evolution of
the labor movement moves forward by leaps and sometimes backward. The move
ensures the working class her experience. The vague and uncertain aspirations of former
materialize and take more solid forms. Since socialism is to achieve is has gained the
experience which it can achieve something in social matters. The conquests give yet
another feature: the consciousness of dissatisfaction. It is not the workers who live in the
most miserable conditions which hooks most to betterment. have tasted since the workers
welfare, they want more and more of this welfare. When the workers receive pensions,
they only begin to realize the inadequacy of pensions.
The greatest feature of reformism is that it develops the desire for more reforms .
