The three-phase inverter is a separate hardware module
comprising of the IC IRAM136-3063B having six IGBTs and a driver IC. The switching pulses for the six switches are generated in Simulink following the equations (8-11) and the value for in those equations is set as a constant corresponding to the battery voltage level. The six signals generated in Simulink are fed to the inverter IC through the ports DACH 1 through DACH 6 of the DS1104 board. Fig. 7 illustrates the Simulink model for the SV-PWM pulse generation while the modulating waveform for SV-PWM is illustrated in Fig. 8. The modulating waveform is compared with a carrier triangular wave having a frequency of 1800 Hz in Simulink to generate the switching pulses. The modulating waveform is a saddle waveform as observed in Fig. 8. The dip is due to a third harmonic component being added to the fundamental waveform. This third harmonic component increases the fundamental voltage output but gets cancelled out Fig. 9 Experimental set-up for the Hybrid Power Conversion Scheme in a Y-connected load configuration. IV. RESULTS The complete hybrid system was implemented in hardware. The experimental set-up is shown in Fig. 9. The photovoltaic component was tested using a 15W panel having the parameters described in Section II for two light intensity levels corresponding to the insolation levels 1 and 2 in Table I. The WECS was implemented using a BLAC motor with ratings listed in Table II and its speed was kept almost constant for the two testing conditions and the reference current value was kept at 0.3 A for both the test cases. The experimental results obtained for the two cases are tabulated in Table III. The load considered in the experimental set-up is a balanced three-phase R-L assembly connected in Y- configuration. A rheostat connected in series with a 680 H inductance forms each phase of the load. The line-to-line inverter output voltage waveform along with its FFT is illustrated in Fig. 10. The line-to-line voltage for the inverter Fig. 10 Line-to-line inverter output voltage with its FFT was found to be 6.2V and the lowest harmonic was of the order 26 at a frequency of 1560 Hz. The higher order harmonics in the frequency spectrum can be neglected considering the low-
