Accomplishments at the USM

Discuss how it feels to be DONE. Please share the most positive thing (besides being done)

that you have gained from your education at the University of Saint Mary. What will you do to continue

your learning?

The most positive things that I have gained from my education at the University of Saint Mary is an

accomplishment that I never imagined. It is one thing to have a dream, but to see it come to pass is

phenomenal. I have always thought of myself as an educator, but to have initials MSN, confirmed it. I will

become or rather, I am a life-long learner. Education is something that I now encourage everyone to partake of.

As an educator, I will forever aid someone along the way. I speak with young people now and encourage them

to take one class at a time and remind them that one class is one less that you must take when you finally go

full swing to achieve your goal. I have been married for 11 years and I have been in school for the past 10

years. To accomplish your goal, you must have determination, a positive support system, prayer partner, and

fear of the unknown. The fear of the unknown creates a foundation for continuing this goal. At the beginning

of every class in my BSN and MSN program, I looked at the curriculum, cried, and told my husband, I cant

do this, why am I doing this? He would smile and say, If you stop, do you have to take this class again? Of

course, I then proceeded to shut the computer down, and I return tomorrow with a vengeance that creates

someone that is focused in reaching her dream. In my BSN program, my gospel song was Never would have

made it by Marvin Sapp, in my MSN program my song was Im gonna be ready by Yolanda Adams. When it

got hard, I went to my song and moved it on. I made it through.

I know that this dream would not have been possible without prayer, dedication, and assistance from

the various instructors at the University of Saint Mary. I will always speak highly of the educators, to everyone

that I meet along this journey. I am done with my educational journey in the classroom and online, but I will

never be done with seeking new knowledge, through literature and technology. I am scared to be done, because

what do I do now? Oh, I know, each one teach one, that is what I will do. Share the knowledge, Myra. My

goal has been accomplished!! To GOD be the glory.
