Alhambra Palace is located just outside the Alhambras ancient walls, offering

ALICANTE
Eat: El Flamenco . Heaving with locals (always a good sign), and serving
homemade Spanish fare, El Flamenco is situated on a pretty pedestrianised
street near the town hall. A three-course meal is 10 (12 at weekends) and
the seafood platter at 45 is a knock-out. 14 C/ San Francisco.

Drink: Celestial Copas. A tiny kitsch bar in Alicantes lively El Barrio district featuring quirky
memorabilia. Over the top with way too much red velvet and faux chandeliers, the place is
nevertheless popular with an older set that enjoys good music.

Stay: Hotel Albahia Boasting an idyllic seafront position with access to three small coves. Hotel
Albaha is a gem. Tennis enthusiasts have access to nine courts by the sea. Rooms are tasteful,

Visit: The Museum of the Hogueras. This museum explains Alicantes most celebrated fiesta,
The Bonfires of Saint John. Locals make handcrafted papier-mch figures that are then burnt
on over 200 bonfires around town. Visit from 20 24 June and join the fun!

BARCELONA
Eat: Casa Calvet . In the heart of Barcelona, in a building created by Catalan
genius Antoni Gaud, is Casa Calvet (pictured). Exclusive yet unpretentious,
its perfect for a special occasion. Theres a great 40 lunch menu, while
dinner starts at 60 a head.

Drink: El bosc de les fades . Entering The Fairy Caf, on the famous Las Ramblas, is like going
into an enchanted fantasy world packed with gnomes and fairies. Throw your pennies and make
a wish at the fountain and enjoy a drink in truly magical surroundings.

Visit: Museu Picasso Picassos life in Barcelona is evident in many of his artworks held in the
Picasso Museum, which is tucked away down a cobbled street in the old town. Admission,
usually 9, is free on Sunday afternoons.

MALAGA
Eat: Clandestino Restaurante. Serving generous portions all day long the
place is great if youre hungry. Try the Namberguan Salad (No. 1 Salad)
consisting of croutons, apple smoked salmon, goats cheese, honey and
oregano.

Drink: Bodega el Pimpi . A very pretty Spanish bodega (pictured). Sip a glass of excellent local
Malagueo wine and try out some tapas dishes. If the weather permits, sit outside and enjoy
spectacular views towards the Roman theatre and castle. Open daily till 2am.

Stay: Room Mate Lola . Each hotel in the Room Mate chain has a name. This one, Lola, is
located in Malagas trendiest neighbourhood, with easy access to main attractions and the
