Brief: Mohsin Azam being a forward thinking, hardworking and dynamic Manager with exceptional

Agencies) in Pakistan with prime responsibilities of Project/Program planning and management,

Work Experience:

1. United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan


Provincial Programme Coordinator, Sindh (NC-9) Dec.2015-April 2017

Sustainable Land Management Programme (US$ 21. 8 Million) implemented through Ministry
of Climate Change, Government of Pakistan & P&D Department, Government of Sindh

Achievements:

Mohsin Successfully managed the Provincial Coordination Unit Sindh, applying administrative and
financial procedures as required under the UNDP and Govt. of Sindh procedures by assisting the
Planning and Development Department, Government of Sindh in implementing SLM activities in
coordination with provincial line Departments and Implementing Partners (NGOs/CBOs). Managing
annual financial portfolio of about US$ 05 Million effectively carried out planned activities and
worked in close collaboration with the consultants hired by the project for the preparation of
Provincial Action Plan (PAP), Provincial Land Use Policy, Provincial Integrated Financing Strategy
(IFS) leading to the preparation of National Action Programme (NAP)/National IFS aligned with
UNCCDs 10-Year Strategic Plan.

2. World Vision International (Pakistan)


Area Development Manager (Sindh) Dec.2014-Dec. 2015

Achievements:
Being one of the Senior Management Team (SMT) Member and providing leadership and
administrative management and ensuring that all program interventions are strategic, effective,
meet designated goals and objectives and are delivered on time with quality, Mohsin headed the
team of over 50 staff members with about US$ 0.5 Million Annual Financial portfolio and
provided technical support to sector leads. Mohsin also made certain that appropriate structures,
staffing, management and resources are available and policies adhered to and correspond to the
standards and successfully contributed towards implementation of the Country Strategy within
Pakistan. Mohsin actively pursued and developed internal and external linkages consistent with
the vision, mission statement, core values and overall organization objectives and identified key
areas for future long term development programs and projects and liaised with donors and other
relevant stakeholders to complete relevant research to prepare and secure winning proposals. In
addition, Mohsin developed and maintained liaison with Government Authorities, NGOs and
other stakeholders and communities. Mohsin also facilitated the Research, Design, Monitoring
and Evaluation (RDME).

3. International Organization on Migration (IOM/HelpAge Int.) Pakistan


Shelter/NFI Cluster Lead Person: July 2012- Oct 2013

Achievements:

Successfully Organized regular Shelter Cluster coordination meetings at District and Provincial
level to coordinate Shelter/NFIs related activities conducted by cluster members and identified
gaps and needs etc. By building capacities of Partner COs and Government line Departments
Mohsin facilitated the IPs distribute over 100,000 NFIs and Shelter Kits in Sindh.

4. United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan


Provincial Monitoring and Reporting Coordinator (SC-8)/
Project Manager/In charge Early Recovery and Restoration Project:
April. 2010-May 2012

Gender Justice Through Musalihat Anjuman Project was a US$ 7.44 million Project (2007-
2011) and was implemented through Ministry of Local Government

Achievements:

Successfully managed the Project Management Unit-Sindh for more the two years. In addition to
being PM&RC Mohsin remained the overall in charge of the Project including Early Recovery and
Restoration Project activities of UNDP/EU in Sindh Province. Ensuring proper action on qualitative
and process-oriented gender-sensitive indicators of inputs, outputs, and outcome Project for M&E
Mohsin assisted the Local Government Department to establish UC level offices to carry out
GJTMAP activities and facilitated line Government Departments and NGOs carry out Project
Activities in target areas. Mohsin build capacities of the Line Government Department Officials and
other stakeholders and managed over US$ 0.6 Million budget annually. Mohsin also assisted the
Government of Sindh form policies on Gender Justice.

Regional Manager-Sociology, Sindh (SC-7): May 2009-April 2010

Mass Awareness for Water Conservation and Development Project was a US$ 15.4 (M) Project
implemented through Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan

Achievements:

Successfully compiled and analyzed all relevant information regarding various civil society
organizations in the province dealing with issues on natural resources conservation and development.
Organized 23 workshops/training sessions in all Districts and 4 at Provincial level. Established
Demonstration sites for NRM and Water Conservation technologies and coordinated and liaised with
other members in the PMU on preparation of work plans, budgets, overall implementation,
monitoring and evaluation of the project and prepared TORs for national consultants/civil societies,
as well as evaluation of prospective candidates/organizations and coordinated and supervised
activities of national and international consultants. Mohsin facilitated he NGOs/CBOs and
Government line Departments form and implement Water Conservation polities and strategies and
build capacities of key stakeholders.

6. Government of Sindh/Asian Development Bank


Finance and Governance Specialist: May 2007 May 2009

Sindh Devolved Social Services Program was a US$220 Million Social Development Program
funded by Asian Development Bank for Sindh Province of Pakistan

Achievements:

Mohsin provided technical and professional support to District Governments and Town Municipal
Administrations in identifying development schemes, assisted District and Town Administrations in
Preparing Annual Development Plans and developed linkages with ADB, Government line
Departments, Local Governments and other civil society agents for effective development programs.
In addition, Mohsin facilitated capacity building programs for District Management and Town
Municipal Administrations, assisted District and Town Municipal Administrations in utilizing funds
properly and on sustainable grounds ensuring local community participation while highlighting
MDGs in Annual Sector Plans of the District and Town Municipal Administrations. Monitored and
evaluated Project activities and schemes and suggested improvements.

Achievements:

Managing a team of about 100 staff members with over US$ 0.2 Million annual financial portfolio
Mohsin planned, managed and supervised all Public-Community Partnership Project activities in
South Sindh while Providing administrative, technical and professional support to District
Coordinators and other key staff. Mohsin successfully developed linkages with USAID/ESRA,
Government line Departments, Local Governments, Social Activists and other civil society agents
and facilitated capacity building programs for Regional Staff while monitoring Project activities and
assisted Head Office in Developing linkages and liaison with major donors. During two years Mohsin
channeled financial support to 1000 primary schools for institutional and infrastructure development
through ESRA.

8. Human Development Foundation (Pakistan)

Achievements:

Heading a team of about 150 staff members with annual financial portfolio of over 0.3 Million,
Mohsin managed and supervised all program activities including administrative, technical and
professional support to Health, Economic Development, HRD and Education Program Coordinators.
Making certain that adequate funding sources are tapped Mohsin facilitated HDF in fund raising
activities in the Region, Prepared project proposals and monitored all program activities. Mohsin
successfully established 50 community schools and 50 CBOs and a well-equipped hospital in target
areas and provided micro finances to over 1000 borrowers, assisted the organization secure funding
from UNICEF for WASH activities in target areas worth US$ 0.2 Million and imparted various
capacity building trainings to staff and other stakeholders.

9. Concern for Children-Trust (Pakistan)


Project Manager (Health and Education Project): July. 1998April. 2003

Achievements:

With annual financial turn-over of about 0.1 Million and a team of 12 professional Mohsin
supervised Health and Education Project activities in Karachi by establishing Health care units and
assisting private and Government schools develop child friendly atmosphere. While maintaining
liaison between CFC and Line Departments/INGOs/NGOs/CBOs Mohsin facilitated in Fund
Raising activities of CFC by Preparing Project Proposals and Program Reports. Assisted and built
capacities of the staff carry out planned activities and successfully completed the mapping project.
