Colbee the Bee - KIT

Pattern, Designed by Lauren Whitney of Crochet Ol!

What youll need:


My Basic Body pattern.
Regular acrylic yarn (#4) in 4 colors: Black, yellow, tan, white
E/4-3.5mm Crochet Hook (use a larger hook if your stitches are tight)
Two 18mm Black Safety Eyes
Poly-Fill or stuffing of your choice
Sewing/Tapestry Needle
1 pipe cleaner, cut in half and each piece folded in half

Abbreviations:
CH Chain
ST/STS Stitch/Stitches
SL ST Slip Stitch
SC Single Crochet
INC. Increase
DEC. Decrease
FO Finish Off
SM Stitch Marker

Size of Bee:
Approximately 14 from head to toe. Depending on tension, yarn, and hook size, your
mouse may turn out either larger or smaller than mine.

Notes:
Pieces are sewn separately and then sewn together
All body parts are crocheted in the round, so do not join at the end of each round
Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of the round, and move up as you work
The magic ring method is used to start each piece. If you do not prefer this technique, you can start
each piece using the following method:
o CH 2, then SC 6x into the second chain away from the hook. SL ST to join the round. This creates
round 1

Eye placement and body colors:


Make the head in the tan yarn.
Place your eyes between rows 18 & 19, about 17/18 st apart.
Make the legs, and arms in black yarn. Start alternating between yellow and black once you reach
Row 1 of the body.

3.-4. SC around (12)
Hat/Hood: Stuff the tip
Black yarn: 5. Dec. in each around (6)
1. SC 6 times in a magic ring (6) 6.-15. SC around (6)
2. 2 SC in each st (12) FO and leave a tail for sewing.
3. Inc. every 2 (18) Insert your folded in half pipe cleaner
4. 3 (24) to make your antennae bendable.
5. 4 (30) Attach your antennae about 7 or 8 rows
6. 5 (36) up from the rim of the hat, about 8-10
7. 6 (42) st apart.

9. 8 (54)
10. 9 (60)
11. 10 (66)
12. 11* (72)
13. 12 (78)
14. 13 (84)
15. -19. SC around (84)
20. Dec. every 13 (78)

FO, leave a long tail for sewing to the
head.
*NOTE: If you are using a yarn for the
hood that is thicker than the yarn used
for the head, you may only have to
increase to either 11, or 12, instead of
13, or the hood will be too big for the
head. Adjust it to fit your head snuggly.

Antennae:
Black yarn:
1. SC 6 times in a magic ring (6)
2. 2 SC in each st (12)

Wing Circles (Make 4): Stinger:


White yarn: Black yarn:
1. SC 6 times in a magic ring (6) 1. SC 4 times in a magic ring (4)
2. 2 SC in each st (12) 2.-4. SC around (4)
3. SL ST in the 1 st of the next row.
st 5. Inc. every 2 (6)
CH 3, and DC in the same ST. FO, and leave a tail for sewing.
4. 2 DC in each st around (24) Sew the singer to the bum in the
FO, and cut the string on 2 of your center about 3 rows up from the crotch.

circles, leave a long enough tail that
will allow you to sew 2 circles
together (back to back) with a
tapestry/sewing needle.
Once you have sewn all 4 circles
together (to create 2 wings), attach
the wings to the back of your bees
body between the arms.
