CiTRANS 660 High-capacity PTN Platform Hardware Description
The quantity of the CiTRANS 660 subracks that can be installed in cabinets vary
with the cabinet dimensions. To guarantee the normal air cooling and wiring, the
installation of each part should follow the principles below.
u Lay the subracks according to the layout diagrams for cabinets of different
dimensions.
u The minimum reserved spaces above and below the subrack should not be
occupied for the normal air cooling of the equipment.
u If the cabinet is not fully occupied, lay the subracks from the bottom up and
reserve the upper space for capacity expansion.

2.2 Function
The main functions of the CiTRANS 660 PDP are described as follows:
u Inducts two (active / standby) channels of -48 V power supply from the external
(such as the power cabinet), and then provides six branch power rails in the
active / standby mode for the three subracks inside the cabinet.
u Performs the lightning protection function, which can effectively withstand the
surge currents in the common mode 2 kV (1.2/50 us to 8/20 us combination wave)
and in the differential mode 1 kV (1.2/50 us to 8/20 us combination wave) on
the power line.
u Supports the alarm input and output function by collecting the alarm information
from the corresponding equipment inside the cabinet, providing audible and
visual alarm display of the alarm signals, and outputting the alarm signals to
higher-level equipment (such as the head of row cabinet).
2.3 Appearance
The CiTRANS 660 PDP is installed inside the cabinet, located under the indicator
LEDs on the cabinet top. See Figure 2-1 for the appearance of the PDP.

(audio alarm), E (subrack signal ground), Call (order wire call), Nua (non-urgent
alarm), Ua (urgent alarm) from left to right.
XPB3 is the output terminal for the triggering signals of the alarm indicator LEDs on
the cabinet top. Its pins are defined as power supply green indicator LED (-, +), non-
urgent alarm yellow indicator LED (-, +), and urgent alarm red indicator LED (-, +)
from the top down.
XPB1 is the alarm output terminal, which is connected to the head of row cabinets
via the alarm cable. Its pins are defined as Call (order wire call), Nua (non-urgent
alarm), and Ua (urgent alarm) from the top down.
XP9 is connected to the NMUJ1 / NASJ1 card via the dedicated alarm cable,
reporting the lightning protection module failure alarm signals to the NMUJ1 /
NASJ1 card.

3.2.3 Appearance
The subrack of the CiTRANS 660 includes three fan units, which are separate from
each other and used for air cooling of the equipment. The appearance of the fan unit
is shown in Figure 3-2.
The fan unit of the CiTRANS 660 obtains the intelligent fan characteristics. After it is
configured to the intelligent fan mode, the rotation speed of the fan will change
according to the inner temperature of the equipment, so as to adjust the
temperature on a real time and guarantee that all cards are working under the
normal temperature.
u Fan intelligent control: Adjusts the fan rotation speed according to the subrack
temperature measured by the network management card. Users can set the
intelligent fan control parameters according to the actual condition. The fan will
rotate at a higher speed when the subrack temperature increases and a lower
speed when the subrack temperature decreases.
u Manual mode full speed / fast speed / slow speed / stop: When the intelligent
control mode become invalid, the fan will rotate at the speed configured
manually.

4 Provides 10GE UNI interface, offering the access services for the clients.
Version: C 4-25
CiTRANS 660 High-capacity PTN Platform Hardware Description
4 Encapsulates the client service messages into MPLS messages and adds
to the MPLS-TP network for forwarding. At the same time, drops the
service messages in the MPLS-TP network and decapsulates the MPLS
messages into the client service messages.
4 Supports the service classification based on PW, port, VLAN, IP, MAC,
802.1P, and so on.
4 Provides the forwarding channel for the services between the MPLS-TP
network nodes.
4 Supports the port rate limit function; and the speed rate granularity is 1

CiTRANS 660 High-capacity PTN Platform Hardware Description
The D-type data interface connector is the interface standard for connecting the
electronic equipment (such as the computer and the peripheral equipment). It is
named D-type connector because its shape is like the English letter D.
The D-type interfaces are on the AIFJ1, AIFJ2, E1J2, IEJ1, and IEJ2 cards of the
CiTRANS 660. See the paragraphs below for the introduction.
The description for the D-type interface on the AIFJ1 card panel is shown in
