SYNC DETAILS (UNIT-1)

REMARKS

The unit synchronized with 4 LDO guns. The HFO could not be taken into service due to
insufficient atomising steam to PRDS actuator/ valve problem. Mill 1A was tried to take into
service. As the primary air temperature and flow could not be sustained, the mill could not
be taken into service. As the MS Pressure was low the unit was stopped.

On synchronisation, the GT Tripped on earth fault protection.

Unit stopped due to shortage of HSD.

Due to chokage of coal feeder #1 (stone), Coal Mill #1 tripped on no coal flow. Due to delay
in clearing the chokage, unit was stopped.

Unit stopped due to shortage of HSD.

Unit stopped by opening the GCB for conducting the following tests on
Turbine:

a. G.V. Seal Test,

b. T.V. Seal Test
c. Overspeed Protection control test at 3090rpm (103%) d.
Overspeed Protection trip - Mechanical at 3212
rpm
e. Digital Electroc Hydraulic Governing System Protection Trip (DEH OST) at 110%
(3300rpm)
f.TSI (Turbine Supervisory Instruments) overspeed Protection trip at 110 % (3300
rpm)
g. Oil ignition test at 3000 rpm,
h. TDBFP - B mechanical overspeed protection at 5214 rpm and oil injection test at 4800
rpm
i. HPCV - Seal test at 4800 rpm
j.LPCV - Seal test at 4800 rpm.

APH A Motor tripped on over current protection. Hence MFT initiated to stop the unit.

APH A Motor tripped on over current Protection. The associated ID (B) & FD (B) tripped.
With one ID (A) & FD (A) and one APH, the furnace pressure couldnot be maintained. As
the furnace pressure was positive, MFT initiated and unit stopped.

Attempt was made to put drum level controler in Auto mode. In the process, MDBFP tripped
on flow low protection. Hence MFT initiated to stop the unit.

GT Tripped on surge protection. 86 protection Relay operated.

MILL 1 C tripped. After about 15minutes a loud explosion occurred from boiler to Mill 1 C
causing damages to the system. Hence MFT initated to stop the unit.
Unit tripped on exciter high winding temperature. While switching on the circuit the unit
tripped due to shorting of cable.
Unit tripped on MFT on high drum level protection.

Unit tripped on stataor water flow low protection.

While taking MDBFP in service GT tripped on high current. Unit triped on loss of power.
boiler tripped on drum level low low protection.

full load achieved on 02.12.14 at 1943 hrs. Unit stopped to attend to boiler tube leakage

unit stopped to attend to APH expansion bellow leakage.

unit stopped due to boiler tube leakage and APH bellow leak.
MFT initiated due to tripping of MDBFP on high vibration
unit stopped to attend to APH-A expansion bellow leakage.
unit stopped as per the rquest of TANGEDCO, due to no load demand.
unit tripped on MFT on loss of all fuel protection trip. Due to logic mistake (all mill/
feeders on MFT trip activated)the unit tripped. Same corrected in the logic.
UAT -1B breaker tripped on earth fault. Consequently Mill C, D & F tripped. Mill B feeder
tripeed and hence Mill B tripped. Only Mill E & G was in service and MFT acted resulting in
unit tripping.
unit stopped to attend to boiler tube leakage.
Unit tripped on MFT due to logic mistake. All feeders/ Mills "ON" the protection is for all
feeder/mill trip. All feeders are tripped on MFT. Logic corrected
GCB opened.

NTPL-Energen line tripped resulting in dip in voltage causing undervoltage trip to all
feeders. Unit tripped on MFT. On investigation observed that the trip was due to dip in
vlotage to feeder microprocceser. UPS supply established to feeder microprocesser.

Pooling station to NTPL line under W/P. Direct trip command given from pooling station to
Coastal line 1 to trip. Due to line tripping unit triped.
one CW pump tripped at 0245 hrs. ID fan A tripped at 14:10 hrs subsequently unit tripped
on opening of GCB.
Unit tripped on ID fan motor bearing vibration high protection trip. (Spurious triping)
Unit stopped as per the request of TANGEDCO due to no load from the grid.
GT Tripped on earth fault protection due disturbance in the 400 Kv line.
Unit stopped due to non availabilty of coal mills.
Unit stopped as per grid requirement
Unit stoped due to heavy leakage in the CRH drain to condenser pipeline
Unit taken out as per TANGEDCO request. (to attend to mill A & B prob)

(Morning ID FAN Tripped on VFD ,not the reason for unit stoppage )

Unit stopped @22:21 Hrs as per the request of TANGEDCO due to no load from the grid.

Found problem in unit-1 GT R phase breaker abnormal sound and frequent operation of
hydraulic pump. So we forced to shut down the unit on emergency basis @10:14am

Unit-1 was tripped on SPS protection acted @ 20:43.
Unit was stopped on emergency to attend boiler tube leakage (S bend near seal trough ) &
ID Fan-1B 4 cracks observed

Unit #1 of Coastal Energen is tripped at 10.01 hrs on 30-11-2016 due to Generator class-D
protection operated. (Stator water System problem (Generator cooling system issue))

Unit-1 was stopped due to coal Shortage @ 23:50 hrs on 5-12-2016.

 Unit-1 was stopped at 17:14 hrs on 29/12/2016 due to low load schedule. (Boiler Tube
leakage @ 8Mt & 20 Mt)

Unit tripped at 17.52 Hrs due to Boiler tube leakage(BTL). (coal Shortage)

We have tripped the unit-1 on emergency basis at 02:11hrs of 10.02.17 due to circulating
water pump tripped. (CWP Cooling water pump tripped ,on logic CWP tripped (3CWP Pump
tripped due to wrong phase connection))

Unit-1 was stopped due to coal Shortage @ 22:59 hrs on 15-02-2017.

Unit got tripped at 12:05hrs of 27.02.17 due to turbine 8th bearing temperature was found
high(Instrumentation error)

Unit was Stopped on 02.03.2017 at 11:59 hrs due to Coal Shortage

Unit was stopped on 05.03.2017 at 14:42 hrs due to Coal Shortage

1.883 MFT as All ID fan stopped. ID fan B tripped and the cause found to be
LPB.
TDBFP A rolling , electrical overspeed testing was done. Reached full
13.477 load on 2nd Jan 2016 @ 22:58hrs. Max=609.75MW.
TDBFP B overspeed test done. COD trial. But failed due to boiler tube
