80 GHz Security Features

Narrow Beams:

Comparing with 6~7 GHz and 70~80GHz

Prevent interception
Resist interference
Superior to lower frequency products
User settable LINK ID codes
Harder to tap than inter-building fiber

iPASOLINK EX Introduction 7
Whats E-band Window of millimeter wave
High Frequency Atmospheric Absorption
E-band (also known as millimetre wave) has a
relative low air attenuation, almost equal Oxygen
microwave 38GHz. This typically results in a Gigabit
link reach, up to 3 km for carrier-grade availability.

The microwave spectrum for short urban links Water vapor

(26/32/38GHz) is becoming increasingly congested.
E-band (70-80GHz) provides a new licensed
spectrum, ready to be used for high capacity links.

71-76/81 86GHz
Water Vapor 200mm/h
150mm/h Monsoon
100mm/h Tropical
50mm/h Downpour
25mm/h Heavy Rain
12mm/h Medium Rain

3mm/h Light Rain A half wave length= 1.8 mm

Comparative to raindrop size
Normal rain intensity 10dB /km
1mm/h Drizzle

Rain Rates

iPASOLINK EX Introduction 8
Applications
Not only capacity but new topologies, traditional tree/branch style to ring/mesh in the aggregation layer.
AMR and QoS for the best balance of bandwidth (priority) sharing. Congestion avoidance algorithms such as WTD
and WRED Compress techniques and Shaping & policing for capacity Optimization.

iPASOLINK EX Narrow-band [Access/Last-mile]

Five times increase in a number of available channels via 50MHz channel spacing, higher spectrum utilisation.

Applications

6-38GHz and 70-80GHz suit

6-38GHz/60GHz/70-80GHz: (Macro Cell) Backhaul and Aggregation
rooftop and mast
60GHz is ideally suited for deployments with higher
roof-to-street or street-to- capacities and more robust
street deployments with its network planning and
high-capacity, short-reach, operations
very low-cost transmission

60GHz: Backhaul of Small
