PROVED TECHNIQUE TO VERIFY THE DIAMETER OF A HOLE

An initial image of the nozzle is taken along with the image of a scale in a dark
background. The image is show in the figure 1 below.

Crop the image of the hole with a uniform background as shown in the figure 2 below

Convert the image to gray scale

Sharpen the image

Adjust brightness and contrast

Subtract the background

Set pixel-mm ratio from the scale

Measure the area of the image

Convert the area into diameter Voila!
