Services we can get from a Bank
A bank has many different functions, for example: it accepts our
deposits and permits us to write checks against them. We can open
two types of accounts at a bank: a savings account and a checking
account.
To open a savings account you go to a bank and deposit your
money. The bank pays you a certain interest, in this way you are
stimulated to save more and more.
To open a checking account you deposit your money in a bank
too. You can use checks for all the commercial transactions and the
bank charges you what is called service charge for their checking
account service. You can not refuse to pay the service charge.
If you need money you can borrow it from a bank. You have to fill
an application for credit. If the bank is satisfied with the application
you get the loan and then you have to pay a certain interest for the
money you have got.
