Creative Overview

Creative is a construction company that specializes in building low cost permanent structure
housing with technology derived from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok. The
technology is also known as Habitech Building System. The technology was developed in the
aftermath of 2015 earthquake in order to provide access to safe and affordable housing in the
rural section of the society. The pricing is significantly lower than the conventional brick and
mortar housing which targets the economy range of those affected by the earthquake in the
rural sections.

As a relatively new entrant in the construction industry, the massive growth of the same,
requires Creative to manage the demand as well as maintain its own growth and sustenance.
Considering all the opportunity, Creative has currently expanding their business into two other
places namely Sindhupalchok and Sindhuli, the base factory being in Nuwakot.

Expansion and catering to the massive demand requires manpower and thus the immediate
need of training and development of new employees in the factory on technology, production
mechanism and such has become a high priority. Without effective training and development
model, not only will the organization lose the existing massive opportunity but will also incur
high non-yielding expenses.

Facilities for Training and Development


Since there is a great opportunity and an immediate need of skilled manpower for the
construction industry, Creative has focused and invested heavily on training and development.
It provides all the essential skills training needed for the business to operate immediately while
the other training and development work continues overtime.

One of the notable training program done by Creative is sending its engineer to AIT Bangkok to
acquire the essential technical skills of the Habitech Building System.
While these trainings are for the immediate needs, other training are provided on quality
control techniques and production methods to the laborers that complements the organization
production and safety goals.
Organization Vision and objective

Creative objective is to be a major stakeholder in the reconstruction efforts of the earthquake


while also providing permanent, affordable and safe solution to the construction part. The
earthquake has destroyed over 500,000 houses across Nepal. In order to reach the targeted
areas and be a part of the reconstruction, the organization requires adequate capacity of
production, good access and strong manpower. The factory in Nuwakot can produce 3000 daily
on average, which is quite low compared to demand, it is expanding its factory to two other
places namely Sindhupalchok and Sindhuli.
As expansion requires not only the factory, but the skilled forces to operate the relatively new
technology, the demand for skilled HR is high, thus the increasing focus on training by the
organization.

Training method and organizational objective


In order to full Creative Objective, partnership with Local NGOs with training regarding
knowledge on Habitech technology is done. It is safe to say that the training and development
is an essential part of the organizations objective

Means of Training and development


Creative is providing its training through available experts in Habitech technology and through
the process of knowledge delegation by the engineers who were initially sent to learn about the
technology to be used by the organization
While the engineer are sent abroad (outsourced) for training,after their return ,most of the
training occurs inside the organization through help of the engineer as well as with the help of
local NGOS for basic construction skill

Insight on Training and development at Creative

While the engineers are sent to learn about the Habitech technology, these engineers are not
immediately capable to act as an expert in the technology and delegate the training knowledge
and technical skills accordingly, creating some disturbances and errors in the construction
designs and development. There is a need to hire an expert directly from AIT for a short period
of time, until the error percentage has drastically reduced and the organization can sustain
itself in the business with minor issues
