INTRODUCTION
This document provides evidence of practical experience gained on the B777-300 to B777-200/200ER Differences and meets the requirements of GCAA CAR 66
and EASA Part 66. Before working on the aircraft, the trainee must obey the safety precautions.
To carry out any task, read and follow the instructions given in the Aircraft/Engine/Component Manufactures official documentation as nessasary.
This Practical Training Program is created with the objective of assisting an aircraft maintenance certifying staff in building up his/her work experience for the
future position to be held.
Trainee signature: by putting his signature, the trainee certifies he/she has understood and can perform the subject task.
Practical Assessor/Engineer signature: by putting his signature, an authorized person certifies that the subject task has been performed and understood by the
trainee. Practical Trainer/Assessor/Engineers Name, signature and stamp will be reflected in the Approved Practical Trainer/Assessor/Engineer list attached in
previous page.
ABBREVIATIONS:
*FOT : Functional Operational Test
LOC : Location Identification of System Components
OPC : Operational Check
MEL : Minimum Equipment List items requiring a maintenance procedure
SGH : Servicing Ground Handling
TVC : Carry Out Thorough Visual Check
*R/I : Removal / Installation
TSE : Trouble Shooting Excercise
*BFG : Briefing on aircraft site
* If aircraft power or other applicable systems are unavailable a BFG/Simulation will be carried out in place of a FOT and R/I.
Briefing/Simulation will be carried out using appropriate AMM tasks.FOT and R/I will be discussed/demonstrated to the trainees in detail. A red asterisk (*) mark
will be added to the respective Task code to indicate that BFG method is used.Only maximum of 25% of FOT and R/I tasks can be carried out in this manner.
PRACTICAL TASKS
Each of the tasks in this Logbook comes with a task requirement code. This code shows the importance of a task in completing the practical training record. Each
of the completed tasks must be signed off by an Approved Practical Trainer/Assessor/Engineer.
Mandatory (M): This indicates that the related task is required for completion of the practical training record.
Desirable (D): This indicates that the related task is not necessary but desirable for the completion of the practical training record.
Open (O): This indicates that the related task is open for the completion of the practical training record. However, it is recommended that all open tasks where
possible should be completed.
Wearing of work clothes and safety shoes is required when accessing the aircraft/workshop.
Permission by the Practical Trainer/Assessor/Engineer is needed for any time away from the place of work.
Safety policies of the Company (where the practical training is carried out) have to be strictly followed.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT WHEN THE AIRCRAFT is MOVING UNDER ITS OWN POWER ON THE GROUND:
- NO PERSONS GO WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAN CAUSE THEM INJURY OR CAN KILL THEM.
NO FOD IS PRESENT WHERE THE ENGINES CAN BLOW THEM AWAY OR CAN PULL THEM INTO THE ENGINES BY SUCTION.
- OBEY THESE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DURING TOWING PUSHBACK OR MOVEMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE PATH OF THE AIRCRAFT IS CLEAR BY PROPER MARSHALLING
- MAKE SURE THAT THE TOW BAR AND THE TRACTOR ARE STRICTLY USED ONLY FOR THEIR INTENDED PURPOSES IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE RISK OF INJURIES.
DURING TOWING/TAXIING OPERATIONS (LOW-SPEED OPERATIONS INCLUDED), EACH PERSON IN THE AIRCRAFT MUST BE SEATED AND THE SEAT BELT MUST BE
FASTENED.
IF THE SEAT BELT IS NOT FASTENED, THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY IF THE AIRCRAFT STOPS SUDDENLY.
WARNING: - MAKE SURE THAT THE WHEEL CHOCKS ARE IN POSITION WHEN THE AIRCRAFT IS PARKED.
WARNING: - DO NOT GET AIRCRAFT FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
GET MEDICAL AID.
WARNING:
- BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU WORK ON THE ENGINE COMPONENTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT
FOR UP TO ONE HOUR.
Duration of this practical training (PT) will be evenly distribuited over a period of 2 days.
Tasks performed by the trainee under the supervision of the Practical Trainer should demonstrate his/her overall competence so that he/she will be able to
execute the necessary maintenance tasks without any supervisory help. It is the responsibility of the Practical Trainer to evaluate the trainee on different levels:
- ATTENDANCE: The Practical Trainer will control the presence of the trainee; arriving on time at the beginning of each practical training
session and after meals breaks.
- COMPREHENSION: The Practical Trainer will check that the trainee answers on a regular basis his theoretical as well as practical questions.
- INTEREST: The Practical Trainer will encourage the trainee to participate by asking questions to maintain concentration, and to work
together with other members of the group.
- KNOWLEDGE: The Practical Trainer will check that the trainees correctly answer his questions.
- RESPONSIBILITY: The Practical Trainer will evaluate that the trainee assumes his responsibility in executing tasks and/or procedures and is not
wasting time.
- COMPETENCE: The Practical Trainer will determine that the trainee has sufficient competence to maintain the aircraft without any
supervisory help.
- SAFETY: The Practical Trainer will observe and determine if the trainee is safety conscious and carries out all his tasks ensuring all
necessary warnings and cautions are followed as per the AMM.
An assessment shall be carried out during this PT. The Task for this assesment will be chosen randomly from the PT logbook. In grading each assessment area,
only one Poor grading will be acceptable. More than one poor grading will require a second assessment to be carried out.
