SENTIMENT CLASSIFICATION ON PRODUCT REVIEWS

AND DYNAMIC TWEETS

ABSTRACT

The objective is to develop a technique for text classification that is robust enough to be applied
across a variety of different classification challenges. Sentiment Analysis also called Opinion
Mining Classify words/senses, texts, documents according to the opinion, emotion, or
sentiment they express. Applications on various areas includes recommender and advertising
systems, customer intelligence, information retrieval, determining critics opinions of products
and track attitudes toward political candidates. Our approach comprises counting positive and
negative term scores to determine sentiment orientation, presented by building dictionary of
positive and negative words, and classifying using Naive Bayes Classifier. Additional
considerations are made on possible further improvements to the method and its use in
conjunction with other techniques. The ultimate goal was to develop techniques that can train for
any sentiment classification task when given a suitable dataset.
