Set We learned about the five senses! What are our five senses? Anybody can name the five senses?
After the students answers, the teacher sticks the five senses picture flash cards on the board and has the class
name them one by one.
Today, we are to learn more about our nose. What do our noses help us to do? It lets us smell things!
One of my favorite smells is chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven. Also, I love the smell of Kim chi stew
boiling in the pot. My mom in Korea makes Kim Chi stew very often, so the smell of Kimchi stew reminds
me of my mom!
Do you have some favorite smells? Tell your neighbor what some of your favorite smells!

Instructional The teacher read the book to review five senses before post-test.
Inputs The teacher has students smell four different contents in the containers wrapped with the foil.
Modeling Give instructions of how to test our noses.
Were going to test our noses today, to see if we can guess what is inside each of these bottles, just by
smelling them! Now remember, when you give a sniff to this bottle, you might know right away whats inside
of it, and you might feel like you want to shout out the answer. But that wouldnt be fair to our friends who
havent had a chance to smell them yet. So keep it to yourself until everyone has had a turn, and then well
share what we think is inside the containers.

Guided -Have students give a sniff to the bottle and after all the students have done, reveal to them what was inside.
Practice - Repeat the same procedure with other 3 contents.
- Say to the students, Isnt it interesting that our noses are so useful?
Our noses could tell us what was inside these bottles, and we didnt even have to use our eyes to peek inside!

Closure We have learned about noses today! Today is the last day of our five senses lesson! We will read the book
about our 5 senses!
Differentiation For struggling learners will get help from their peers.
For students who have already mastered the content will help students who are struggling.
Independent Students will actively be engaged in listening to the story about 5 senses and share their thoughts with peers.
