This Update Tool is designed specifically to update firmware of BOLT! Mobile WiFi MF90.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF FIRMWARE UPDATES?


Fixed issue sudden cant access internet after used 10-15 minutes in bad signal location.
Add text Default password is admin in WebUI login page for easier login.

DOES MY MF90 ELIGIBLE FOR FIRMWARE UPDATE?


Your Mobile WiFi MF90 is eligible for firmware update if the version is lower than this version.
To know whether your Mobile WiFi MF90 is eligible for this firmware update, please follow
these steps:
1) Turn on your Mobile WiFi MF90 and connect it to your Mac.
2) Open browser and enter 192.168.1.1 in the URL bar.
3) Login to the WebUI using your password (default is admin).
4) Select <Information> menu, then select <Device Information>.
5) See the Firmware Version in the provided information. For example:

This Update Tool support Mac OSX 10.6 10.9.

HOW TO UPDATE?
1. Turn on your Mobile WiFi, and then connect it to Mac using provided USB cable.
(To check if your Mobile WiFi already connected to Mac, ensure you can access MF90
WebUI 192.168.1.1 through your browser).

2. Run Update Tool. It will detect the device automatically in less than 20 second and will
show current firmware version.

3. Press Update to start firmware updating process. Wait until update process is
complete.

4. Wait until update process is complete.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION


1. Q : Why the Update button is not available after I open Update Tool? The tool keeps
searching.
A : If the Update Tool keep searching like below, this is because your WiFi is still
turned on.

Turn off your WiFi before opening the Update Tool. You can turn off your WiFi by
clicking the WiFi icon in your Mac upper desktop screen and click the Turn Wi-Fi Off or
Turn AirPort Off (depend on Mac version) like below. After that, remove your Mobile
WiFi from the Mac and repeat step How to Update above.

2. Q : I got popup Download failed, please download again. What happen?


A : If you get popup message Download failed, please download again, this is
probably because the USB connection between MF90 and your Mac is temporarily
disconnected resulting the update process failed. Repeat the update step according to
step in How to Update above.

3. Q : Can I open other application during update process?


A : We advise customer to not open application like game, design application, etc,
that require CPU and RAM resource extensively during update process.

4. Q : My MF90 is unintentionally removed before update process complete. What


should I do?
A : The update process has failed. Repeat the update step according to How to
Update above.

5. Q : Can I connect a device to other USB port during update process?


A : You can connect a device to other USB port in your Mac as long as the device is
not a USB Modem or Mobile WiFi devices, for example USB flash drive, smartphone, and
digital camera.

6. Q : Will my MF90 damage if I try to close the Update Tool before update process
complete?
A : We strongly recommend user to complete the update firmware process and not
try to close the tool. Nevertheless, no damage will happen to your MF90 if you try to
close the Update Tool. We design this tool such that when user press X button there
will be notification for user to not close the Update Tool.

7. T : Update Tool notifies me that the update is complete, but why does the UI
indicator doesnt show 100/100?
J : This bug is happened occasionally in some Mac 10.9 machine. However, you dont
need to worry because this is only bug in Update Tool UI. The actual firmware is already
successfully updated. You can check the firmware version in section Does My MF90
Eligible for Firmware Update above. The bug will be fixed in next build of Update Tool.

8. Q : I have updated my MF90 firmware to latest version. Can I downgrade the


firmware to previous version?
A : Firmware downgrade is not possible through this Update Tool. However, for
optimal device performance, we always recommend MF90 user to update their firmware
to latest version.

9. Q : Can I use SIM card from other operator to my MF90?


A : Unfortunately, MF90 is designed to be only working with BOLT! USIM. We dont
recommend customer to modify or try to modify MF90 software as this will void your
warranty.

ATTENTION
1. Dont remove Mobile WiFi from USB port during update process.
2. Upon successful update, restart the Mobile WiFi before reconnect the device to your
Mac.
3. This update will reset Mobile WiFi setting to factory default setting.
4. If Mac USB port doesnt detect the Mobile WiFi, please connect to other USB port.
5. Dont turn off Mac until update process is complete.
6. Update will fail if your Mac enter sleep, standby, or hibernate mode during update
process.
7. Dont close Update Tool during update process.
8. Dont connect Mobile WiFi to USB Hub. Connect Mobile WiFi directly to Mac USB port.
9. If Update Tool is inadvertently closed before update process, reset your Mobile WiFi and
repeat How to Update above.
