From Pastor Tomblin……..
It is so easy to see problems. If we are not
careful, we can find ourselves dwelling only on what's
wrong. Before long we become apathetic and
unconcerned. We sit around and gossip about how bad
everything is, excited only with pointing out whose
fault it all is.
Am I suggesting that we pretend problems
do not exist? No, I'm questioning why we would rather
complain than be apart of solving problems. Lost in
this world of pessimism, we become blind to the
potential that is hidden behind the fog of apathy. If we
cannot see the possibilities we will never work to
achieve them, only sit around and gripe about
what might have been and praise only what used to be.
There is an old saying, "if a carpenter can't see
it in his mind, no one will ever see it with their eyes".
This holds true for the church as well. If a church can't
see ministry through the eyes of faith, the world will
not see the power of the Gospel in their lives.
Problems can be the catalyst that moves us to
act by faith, revealing our faithfulness and obedience
to our Lord Jesus. Problems cause us to submit to
God's authority and serve together in harmony as the
Body of Christ. A problem solved is evidence of God's
people trusting Jesus and of the Holy Spirit's power
within His people.
God uses problems, not to make us gripers and
complainers, but to stretch us beyond our own abilities
to cope, beyond our power to endure and beyond our
problem solving abilities. He stretches us to the
breaking point, and as a broken horse is finally
‘rideable’, in brokenness we are finally at the point of
our greatest usefulness to our Lord.
We serve a great God, may our faithfulness and
obedience give witness of This Greatness.

need to know that it is God's
will for our lives. It is so easy to lose our focus.
Everyday life is uncertain. This is why we need
to trust Him more. We are all called to share
the Good News about Christ.
Pray for Sunday School as we gear up for
the new church year. There are many
prospects that just need a little
encouragement from one of us. You may be
the person God will use to help them get on
the right track in their Christian walk.

Attention all youth….
This summer has been great! I have enjoyed
watching the youth grow in their Christian lives.
It was such a blessing to see them give of
themselves to others while in Kentucky. It was
also great to see them be blessed during camp.
We are blessed to have a group of youth that is
willing to serve God. It has blessed my own life
to watch them. I wish I would have served God
in my early teen years and have that as a
testimony. There are so many things they could
be doing but they are doing the most important
thing and that is being faithful. We all need to
hold them up in prayer as they soon will be
heading off to school. May the Lord continue to
bless the youth of the church.
