Print Results from Database DBPRIN
1 Task Description.
The program DBPRIN is a tool for the engineer in order to get the results for the
necessary checks in a clear form fast.
Nearly all results which have been stored in the data base may be printed. In this
case an arbitrary selection is possible. An important range of application is the
representation of the maximum and minimum values or of the amountwise maxi-
mum values for a specific selection of nodes or elements.
Therefore it is possible to switch off the output during the calculation and to print
only some important selected results with DBPRIN.
After processing of the input the required data are read from the database and
output in the demanded form.

The sequence of the input records is arbitrary, however, it does not make sence
in all cases. A corresponding selection has to be defined in each case before
PRIN. The selection remain active also for the following PRIN records as long
as they are not redefined.
The records HEAD, END and PAGE are described in the general manual SOFi-
STiK: FEA / STRUCTURAL Installation and Basics.

As many as desired records of this type may be input. They are printed before the
next output block. Blank lines are generated with an input of the record TEXT.

LC Selection of Load Cases
Description
Unit Default
All load cases which were defined before with LC are processed in the next PRIN
command. If no record LC was input, all load cases which are stored in the data-
base are processed.
If no new records LC are defined after a record PRIN, the load case selection is
maintained.

The input of KND2 is necessary, if not all values which are available in KIND
should be processed. The allowable inputs are:

TAUM elements (*O = top, *U = bottom)

The number of the ITEM records up to the next PRIN record is dependent on

Examples:
If no record SELE is defined, all results of the desired type which were stored in
the database are processed.
A range may be defined with an input of two limits. Only the elements for which
the value of KND2 is smaller than MAX and more than MIN are printed (case 1).
If MAX is smaller than MIN, only the values which are outside the range are
printed. In this case these values which are smaller than MAX or more than MIN
are used (case 2).
MIN MAX
case 1
output values
The values for MAX and MIN have to be defined in the unit of the input. They are
defined independently by PAGE UNIO in SOFISTIK.DIM (Description of the re-
cord PAGE see general manual SOFiSTiK: FEA / STRUCTURAL Installation
and Basics). The following dimensions are to be input as a default:
Remarks:
The use of the element generator with ENO and DNO is more effective than
a generation with CADINP. A total of 9999 records of the type SELE is al-
lowed.

PRIN Print of the Results
Description

MAXZ The maximum values which are available in the results of KND2 are
printed with the corresponding values of all selected load cases and
elements.
MINZ The minimum values which are available in the results of KND2 are
printed with the corresponding values of all selected load cases and
elements.
MAMZ The maximum and minimum values which are available in the results
of KND2 are printed with the corresponding values of all selected load
cases and elements.
MAX The maximum values of all selected load cases and elements and the
maximum values which are available in KIND are printed.
MIN The minimum values of all selected load cases and elements and the
minimum values which are available in KIND are printed.
MAMI The maximum and minimum values of all selected load cases and el-
ements and the maximum and minimum values which are available
in KIND are printed.
For MAXZ, MINZ and MAMZ so many lines are output as results for KIND occur.
Only one line is printed in each case for MAX, MIn, MAMI and BMAX.
Note:
Beam results at sections which were generated due to loads and which were not
defined in segments may be printed only with SORT LC.
Example:
With ECHO SELE NO; ECHO RES YES result data which are suitable for the
postprocessing with the spreadsheet programs LOTUS, SUPERCALC, QUAT-
TRO PRO may be generated.

The input files which are explained here are to be found in the installation directory
SOFiSTiK in the subdirectory dbprin.dat\english. Alternatively you will find these
examples via the TEDDY menu HELP > EXAMPLES sorted by program name
and language.

In the following example all beams whose element number starts with 2 are re-
quested. The internal forces and moments for this beams are output in the block
1. In the 2nd block the minimum and maximum values are printed for all available
beam internal forces and moments. In the block 3 the maximum and minimum va-
lues are requested for all internal forces and moments of these elements with the
corresponding values. The blocks 4 and 5 show the use of MAX and MIN in the
record SELE. In the block 4 the results are output, if STMY is between 10 and
+10, and in the block 5 only then, if STMY is outside of this range.
