A. Insectarium

1.1 Tool and Material


Alat yang digunakan untuk pembuatan Insektarium adalah .
Bahan yang digunakan adalah (Disesuaikan dengan acara praktikum dan
penugasan bagi yang mengambil insectarium)

1.3 Description
1. Serangga ditangkap dengan cara penangkapan sesuai dengan ukuran dan habitat
serangga. Serangga yang terbang ditangkap dengan menggunakan jaring serangga.
Serangga yang tinggal di tanah ditangkap menggunakan pit fall trap.

D. Taxidermy

4.1. Tools and material


The tools that used in taxidermy making are wire, dissection kit, sewing
tools, brush, eye doll and walk in freezer.
The material that used in taxidermy making are animal, soap, cotton,
chloroform, borax and maize.
4.2. Chart Flow

Animal anesthetized

Abdomen dissected until the the thorax part.

The internal organs is removed

The eyes of animal is replaced with doll eyes

Remove the fleshy organ on the animals head like tongue,


brain, etc.

Animal skin stretched and smeared with borax (inner skin)

Remove the flesh and fat residual with brush.

The inner skin is cleaned with soap until the


residual blood is removed

The animal is dried

Animals are formed according to the original morphology in


nature with wire as a substitute for bone.

Cotton is inserted then the exposed skin part is sewn.


Preset inserted into walk in feezer for 2 x 24 hours

The preservation is dried again

Display on the storage where the temperature is adjustable.

4.3. Description
1. Animal anesthetized chloroform so the animal fainted.
2. Abdomen dissected until the the thorax part with sissection tools that has been
prepared.
3. The internal organs is removed like bone, lungs, heart, kidney, colon, intestine
etc but still keep the skin.
4. The eyes of animal is replaced with doll eyes because the eyes of the animal can
rot.
5. Remove the fleshy organ on the animals head like tongue, brain, etc to avoid
decomposition..
6. Animal skin stretched and smeared with borax (inner skin) to maintain the
texture of animal skin.
7. Remove the flesh and fat residual with brush.
8. The inner skin is cleaned with soap until the residual blood is removed and rinse
with water.
9. The animal is dried ithout being exposed to direct sunlight, should be fast and
not too dry.
10. Animals are formed according to the original morphology in nature with wire as
a substitute for bone.
11. Cotton is inserted to fill the animal preservation then the exposed skin part is
sewn with sewing tool.
12. Preset inserted into walk in feezer for 2 x 24 hours to avoid decomposition.
13. The preservation is dried again.
14. Display on the storage where the temperature is adjustable about 27-28 C
