Student learn to terminology glossary.
ANALYSE:
When you analyse you should identify
the individual components and the way in
which they relate to each other. You must
then state the implications of this
relationship.
COMPARE:
When you compare you select any
distinguishing features and show the way
in which things are the same or similar or
how they are different.
DESCRIBE:
When you describe you provide
information about the characteristics and
features of objects, places, processes
etc.
EVALUATE:
When you evaluate you question and
qualify to gain a level of knowledge and
understanding that adds a degree of
accuracy for critical comparison.
EXAMINE:
When you examine you inquire into
results, statements or symptoms to
consolidate or establish an idea, belief,
fact or judgement about something.
IDENTIFY:
When you Identify you recognise and
name those things that relate only to the
specific focus of the question.
JUSTIFY:
When you justify you present evidence to
support an argument or conclusion
based on that evidence.
RESEARCH:
When you research you use various
methods and media to gather relevant
information.
APPLY:
When you apply you use only that
particular information, process or ability
that is necessary to reach the final
solution to a problem or a particular set
task.
CONSTRUCT:
When you construct you make, build or
put together items or arguments to
display an assemblage of data ready for
display or cross-referencing.
DISCUSS:
When you discuss you note the issues
and information presented then provide
points for and/or against the main
statement thrust.
EXPERIMENT:
When you experiment you carry out tests
to determine or discover facts or
outcomes or to collect specific data.
EXPLAIN:
When you explain you should be able to
relate cause and effect. You must be
able to make the relationships between
things evident and provide answers as to
why, when and how.
INVESTIGATE:
When you investigate you try to draw
conclusions about, or discover
consequences of a situation, an issue or
an action.
OUTLINE:
When you outline you should sketch your
ideas in general terms then present the
main features of your final answer.
SYNTHESISE:
When you synthesise you put together
the various elements required to make
the whole or complete answer.
