“BOOST_TEAM” “Parma” 50000000 9500 50000

It will make Parma has about 100 Million euro transfer budget, 9500 point club

he next my research for young talents and wonderkids is linked with the idea of having
youngsters to replace William Gallas in the future. Of course, I have already some
candidates in my team. The first one is Phillipe Senderos. He is really good and tough
central defender, though not so fast. The second one is Johan Djourou who is on the loan
in Birmingham. But anyway I was going to seek for some very young (age <= 21) and
may be unknown future stars.

Wonderkid central defenders

Micah Richards - the best one as for me. This guy from Manchester City is still 19 years
old. Very tough, fast defender and tight marker who can play as right back and defensive
midfielder. My scout considers him to be so good as Kolo Toure. But he costs $14M and
Man City bosses don't want to sell him at the moment.
Ezequiel Garay - Argentinian 21 years old defender from Racing. He costs $13.75M,
has the most of attributes the same as Micah Richards. Richards has higher physical
skills, from the other hand - Garay has very good abilities to score goals from free kicks
and long shots. My scout thinks that Garay can be as good as Gallas.

Gerard Pique - well-known Spanish wonderkid from Manchester United . He has great
Heading and Strength, high Positioning and all mental attributes needed for DC. But
likehood of such transfer from Man Utd to Arsenal is very low… So I just consider the
fact that the guy is great.

Domenico Criscito - Italian young star from Juventus. Versatile to play on DC and DL
positions.
Has great 18 value on many attributes important for defender. Considered highly reliable
player who doesn't often let opponents get past him. Scout says that Criscito can be a bit
better than Toure! Very interesting and tasty variant for me, actually!

Among wonderkids there Sergio Ramos and Vedran Chorluka could be mentioned. But
the first is of very high price ($38M), and the second costs $15.5M and has skills not
better than aforementioned wonderkids.
Prospective young central defenders

There I'm not going to describe much each of the young prospective defenders, just want
to present you the list of players (with short remarks) whom I can buy to my Arsenal in
the next two transfer windows:

Cristian Zapata - Udinese, age: 21, Columbian. Great physical, technical attributes!
Below average - Passing (10). Real guy!

Mamadou Sakho - PSG, age: 17(!), DLC, French. Good physical and technical attribute
values. Can be trained in a real star I belive.

Breno - Sao Paolo, age: 18(!), Brazilian. Very strong and smart youngster. Almost
wonderkid!

Dmytro Chygrynskyi - Shakhtar, age: 21, Ukrainian. High strength skills, most of
mental and technical skills. Shakhtar captain at age of 21!

Jonathan Evans - Manchester United, age: 19, English.

Steve Taylor - Newcastle United, age: 21. English U21 captain. Can perform great in
any football club in the world!

And finally I would like to right all these youngsters to understand my priorities for
future signings on DC position.

1. Micah Richards
2. Domenico Criscito
3. Ezequiel Garay
4. Cristian Zapata
5. Steve Taylor
6. Breno
7. Dmytro Chygrynskyi
8. Mamadou Sakho

Young defenders not included in the rating are decided to be impossible to sign due to
rivalry or expensiveness.

Today I would like to share with you my research about young talents for position of
central attacking midfielders.
Wonderkids

Sergio Aguero

The greatest wonderkid from Atletico Madrid for this position! But he costs very much
and can be bought only by grand clubs. Brilliant technique, dribbling, speed, stamina and
mental abilities.

Samir Nasri

Very good wonderkid-playmaker from Marseille who can develop many chances and
dictate tempo. Young hope of nation team of France.

Anderson
Flamboyant Mancherster United's newcomer. Tricky and fast guy with good Stamina.
Costs much as well as Nasri.

Matias Fernandez

Wonderful wonderkid from Villarreal!!! Just look at his attributes - many of them are 17-
19! Costs $18M at the current moment in my game.

Giovani dos Santos

New Barcelona's mega-talent who is very-very young (only 18 years old) and can
become superstar!

Juan Mata

Another wonderkid from Spanish League. He plays for Valencia and is very good as left
winger as well as AMC.

Prospective young central attacking midfielders

There I would like to give you my shortlist of other young AMC talents. There are 22 of
them, and it would take much time to describe each of them. Instead I prepared some
categories containing 3 best players (related to a category).

Best of the Cheapest talents

1. Xabi Prieto (Real Sociedad) - $1.5M

2. Sergio Mota (Sao Paolo) - $4.4M
3. Lulinha (Corinthians) - $4.5M

The most young stars

1. Lucas Trecarichi (Sevilla) - 17 years old
2. Freddy Adu (Benfica) - 18 years old
3. Sergio Mota (Sao Paolo) - 18 years old

The talents with the best Physical Attributes

Arsenal Trainings: Improvements after the first half of the season

In my game I have just reached the 1st of January. So the winter transfer window is
starting . And before going deeper to research of new talents and making some transfers I
decided to give you the results of the trainings which have been used since the start of the
season.

Training - GK (for goalkeepers).

Lucasz Fabianski. Fabianski has the best training report among three keepers of Arsenal.
Many attributes: + 1 point.

Jens Lehmann. Improved only few attributes on 1 point.

Vito Mannone. Many increases of attributes on 1 point.

Training - DRL (for left and right defenders).

Gael Clichy. Almost not improved because of his 3(!) short-time injuries.

Emmanuel Eboue. Many improvements on 1 point. Passing and Crossing are improved
on 2 points!

Bakary Sagna. A lot of increases (15!) on 2 points!! Just take a look on these
improvements:

Lassana Diarra. 8 attributes: + 2 points; many other attributes: +1 point.

Armand Traore. Stamina, Teamwork, Concentration: +3 (!) points; 6 attributes: +2

points; many other attributes: +1.
Justin Hoyte. Many attributes: + 1 point.

Training - DC (for central defenders).

William Gallas. 4 attributes: +1 point.

Kolo Toure. 4 attributes: +1 point.

Philippe Senderos. Tackling and Flair: +2 points; many other attributes: +1 point.

Christopher Samba. 13 attributes: +1 point.

Training - MRL (for left, right midfielders and wingers).

Tomas Rosicky. Off the ball, Concentration: +2 points; 14 attributes: +1 point.

Aliaksander Hleb. 14 attributes: +1 point.

Theo Walcott. 12 attributes: +1 point.

Urby Emmanuelson. Anticipation: +2 points; 13 attributes: +1 point.

Ismael Aissati. Work Rate, Long Shots, Free Kicks, Long Throws: +2 points; 17
attributes: +1 point.

Training - MC (for central midfielders including attacking mids).

Francesc Fabregas. 10 attributes: +1 point.

Abou Diaby. 5 attributes: +2 points; 14 attributes: +1 point.

Mathieu Flamini. Agility, Balance: +2 points; 13 attributes: +1 point.

Alexandre Song. 17 attributes: +1 point.

Training - DMC (for defensive central midfielders).

Gilberto Silva. 4 attributes: +1 point.

Training - SC (for all forwards).

Robin Van Persie. 14 attributes: +1 point.

Emmanuel Adebayor. Strength, Long Throws: +2 points; 15 attributes: +1 point.

Eduardo. 1 attribute: +1 point. No other increases because of two injuries.

Niklas Bendtner. Flair, Dribbling, Composure: +2 points; 17 attributes: +1 point.

These training results are really good as for me. By the way the same situation with
training results for U18 team. Most of our youngest players have some +2 improvements
and many +1. Analyzing all the results we can see that training effect becomes lower
when player becomes older. Therefore 30+ years old players have not more than 5
increases of attributes on 1 point.

Finalizing I would like to add the following facts:

 The most effectively trained player is Armand Traore at the moment.

 My most effective training scheme is DRL (for left and right defenders).

Some thoughts about player conditions, training workload and rotation

Let’s consider Player Condition value:

• From 95 to 100 - player will play the entire match at a speed limit.
• 90-95- usually player is enough for 2 times, but can be tired during extra time in cup
games.
• 80-90- he is enough for 45-75 minutes. Such player should be better on a substitution
bench.
• Below 70 – a player should not appear on the substitution bench even. Such players will
be not able to help the team.

Normally there are problems with physics at the beginning and the end of the season. If
in the middle of the season problems remain, it is time to review the training schedule.

A rotation, of course, is necessary, if you do not want to have a tired team at the end of
the season. Try to use the principle which Rafa Benitez uses in the real life with his
Liverpool. Rotate the first squad every next match!

How to use coaches of your team in FM 2008 trainings

At first you should pay attention to number of your coaches and their coaching attributes.
I recommend to have one coach who is an expert in one coaching attribute. Level of
expertise depends on the level of your football club and its finances. If you train
Manchester United than value of coaching attribute must be not less than 19. From the
other hand, for Watford you should try to sign coaches with value of, for example,
Defending (if coach is expert of Defending) being not less than 16.

Then assignments of your coaches will be done very easily using the same principle: one
coach to one coaching attribute of his expertise.
Summary on the Coaches screen gives the total information about workload and rating of
your coaches. The rating is the most important parameter there. Therefore you can use
Summary to follow covering all the attributes by the ratings with the most effective way.

And the last tip – if you do not have enough expert-coaches than you must cover all the
attributes with ratings and do not leave any zero values.

Trainings in Football Manager 2008

Considering trainings in FM 2008, I would mention two different approaches which are
most often used by FM gamers.
The first is very simple and standard. Some of the gamers do not spend their time on
trainings setup and leave them without any change. This is not bad. I mean, there’s no
any bad influence of standard trainings on players of your team. Fitness, mental and
technical player abilities are supported equally and enough for getting big wins.

Anyway there is the second approach which could give you much more benefit. It
consists in setting up trainings by your own hands. Usually an advanced FM gamer
creates several trainings for different pitch positions: goalkeepers, centre defenders, wing
backs, defensive midfielders, attacking midfielders, wingers, forwards.

Normally, for goalkeepers the following skills are trained: Goalkeeping on Intensive
level, Tactics, Ball Control, Strength, Aerobic on Medium level.
Centre defenders are effectively trained with High setting of Strength, Tactics, Aerobic,
Defending and Medium setting of Set Pieces, Ball Control.

Wing back defenders should have High setting of Defending, Tactics, Aerobic and
Medium setting of Set Pieces, Ball Control.
For defensive and attacking midfielders I would advice High levels of Ball Control,
Tactics. Other skills apart from Goalkeeping must be set with Medium level. Though
there is difference between DMs and AMs: set for attacking midfielders High Attacking
and for defensive midfielders High Defending. Isn’t it logically? :)

Winger players must be fast and creative – have a good dribbling, pace, crossing abilities.
My recommendation for them: High - Attacking, Tactics, Aerobic and Medium -
Strength, Shooting, Ball Control, Set Pieces.

And at least but not last – forwards. There can be different types of them, of course –
towering strikers (like John Carew, Didier Drogba, Jan Koller) or fast dribblers (Robinho,
Thierry Henry, Wayne Rooney). That’s why it is good to have corresponding types of
training. Anyway I usually set only one common training for all forwards: Intensive
setting of Shooting, High setting of Attacking and all other skills apart from
Goalkeeping and Defending are set as Medium.

And don’t forget to set distinct training programs for player of youth team. I recommend
to set the same settings increasing levels of Strength and Aerobic.

Tips and hints: How to select players for a first squad in Football Manager
2008

Usually playing Football Manager 2008 I follow the next principles when it is necessary
to select the first squad before a match:
• At first when you select players for participate in the match, look at their morale and
conditions. Try to use players with the highest morale, and do not set to the first squad
'Very poor' or 'Poor' moraled footballers.

• As far as conditions concerned, usually I do not use players who has less then 94%
giving them rest from the game or just placing them to the substitution.

• Another small hint is checking current level of fitness of a player. I never set a player to
the first squad when he has fitness - 'Several lacking in match fitness', 'Tired' or
something like that except matches with very weak opponent teams.

• Never set injured players with orange 'Inj' sign to participate in a match.

• It is also important to understand form of your footballer: how good he played last
matches, what kind of performance he shows during this season, how often he gets
injured, how good he is at that or other position where you use him. Follow statistics of a
player!

• Talking with players during the matches, correct media comments and personal
talks with a player really matter!Use them often to increase morale of your footballers.
Try to avoid setting to the first squad a player who is being nervous before a match after
your media comment.

5 Helpful Hints for Football Managers

Team talks

If a team is low motivated or under great pressure from the press (or yours), the tactics
will not work effectively. If your players have always played below their usual form, you
are running poor talks with the team. This situation can be handled during conversations
before the match and after the first half in the dressing room. But do not forget asking
assistant to check reaction of your footballers on your talks!

Conditions of players

If your players are overloaded at the training or simply too tired, tactics will not work
effectively. Remember, the main sign of overloaded trainings - your players approach the
match with the conditions less than 95.

Many newcomers in team

If your team has a lot of newcomers, prepare yourself to the fact that the first 6-8 games
will be somewhat chaotic for team due to low team-work. Learn from the assistant about
team cohesion.

Team leader

If your team has no leader with a high determination, team will begin playing unstable
sooner or later… Try to be sure having such team leader.
Your reputation

If you are new coach for the club, your low reputation will drop morale of your players. It
will produce immediate impact on the team performance.

New version of FM has a lot of rather small but cool features. One of them is a flexibility
of season expectations choice. You can increase or decrease expectations from board! If
you are sure to perform better than board expects, you choose more hard season targets
and board give you more money for their achievement. I did this with Arsenal claiming
that my aim is fighting for Premier Championship title!
I decided to use non-trivial strategy of team squad management. Actually, it is one of
Arsene Wenger: search for young talents and growing them to real stars. Well, it is
known that Arsenal’s squad is young at the start, but I decided to buy more players for
U17-team. Part of new FM screen with bought players:

Teaudors, Pele, Wright – younsters for U17 who are able to grow into very good football
players. Young and perspective Urby Emanuelson was bought for increasing of
concurrency between left flank players.

Ismael Aissati is a wonderkid attacking midfielder who is ready to play in starting eleven
of Arsenal, at least being on substitute. His strongest abilities are agile technique, creative
decision making and having both left and right foot very keen.
Considering Aisatti I would like to review another small new feature of FM 2008.
Actually, it’s about second nationalities. In the previous versions of FM, any foreign
player could get second nationality playing in his club for a long time. But no one of us
could when it will happen. Since now there is possiblity to know:

Of course, it’s a very small feature. But it, surely, allows us to plan more wisely when
you have many foreign footballers and some for them restrictions in concrete
championship league.
Getting back to my transfers within Arsenal, it is interesting to consider another new
screen of Football Manager 2008 – Transfer Centre:

On this screen one can all current and last unfinished transfer attempts. In concrete case
you see my unsuccessful endeavours to buy young star Micah Richards and more young
Saivet and Sakho, as well as unfortunate enquiries from other clubs for my players.
I’m pretty sure that this screen makes transfer management somewhat easier.
