Questions
1. The inverse problem is solved separately for every
frequency. Assuming that there are no rank-deficiency
issues, how many solutions exist? Are the least squares
and SVD solutions different?
2. Calculate the LS solution using simulated data with added
noise and plot the identified forces in the time as well as
frequency domain. Discuss the results. inverse.m
3. What type of regularization (space/time) can we apply?
Calculate a regularized solution to the problem (Tikhonov),
plot it, and discuss.
4. Formulate in words what additional information we are
incorporating into the inversion process by means of the
regularization.
