H: GROUP PROJECT: read and summarize Power of Music readings (readings and
question sheet on Moodle) and answer question at bottom of page. Discuss with
your group members and present your summary and discussion during class on
Tuesday. DUE beginning of next class: Thursday, 8/25

***Extra credit: a short performance of a secular song for R (9/1); see me after class if you are
interested (both instrumentalists and singers). You will perform it once in a Medieval way (sung,
with drone and/or percussion) and once again in your own arrangement, in any musical style!!***

particular mode (write the number of the mode at the top); write it in modern
notation; include some syllabic, neumatic, and melismatic text setting; you may
also indicate a performance type (antiphonal, direct, responsorial). BE
