1- Basic Function & Scope :

2- Task and Duties :

a. Remain current with applicable regulatory requirements which include, but not limited to,
Kuwait DGCA, EASA, FAA, Human Factors and safety requirements.
b. Maintain & update (Digitally and hard copy) all certifying staff approval documentation and
ensure security of records.
c. Carry out vetting of certifying staff approval application ensuring that all applicable
requirements are fulfilled.
d. Carry out the required arrangements for certifying staff approval examination ensuring that the
requirements of EQCP are fully satisfied and that the applicant has been informed of the
examination details ahead of time.
e. Ensure that all certifying staff receive an up-to-date approved copy of his/her approval
certificate and a copy of maintained in his/her file.
f. Ensure that all staff approval certificates remain valid for license, Type approvals, EASA and HF
recurrent training and ensure that staff are informed of expiry dates at least 30 days earlier.
g. Conducts and follows through on planned audits as assigned.
h. Accompany external auditors during their audits of Kuwait Airways as assigned
i. Follow-up the day-to-day technical issues with other operators in technical matter related to the
certification of KAC aircraft by other operators or in matter related to certification of other
operators by KAC.
j. Participate in or conduct / lead technical investigations and ensure corrective measures are
taken / recommended to eliminate future re-occurrence as assigned.
k. May be required to carry out special projects and assignments as assigned by his superiors or
management.

9- Basic Function & Scope :

Investigation & Occurrences engineer is responsible to ensure that all reported and unreported
occurrences, accidents, incidents and significant technical delays are investigated and suitable
remedial actions recommended to Quality Control Manager. Additionally, Investigation &
Occurrences engineers are responsible to ensure an occurrences report are completed and supplied
to the applicable authority.

10- Task and Duties :

m. Remain current with applicable regulatory requirements which include, but not limited to,
Kuwait DGCA, EASA, FAA, Human Factors and safety requirements.
n. Retain custody of all aircraft maintenance documentation ensuring that the security of
documents are kept to the highest level. Additionally, will be required to ensure that documents
are isolated and kept under tight security in the event of an accident / incident.
o. Will be required to organize, Control, participate in or conduct / lead technical investigations
and ensure corrective measures are taken / recommended to eliminate future re-occurrence.
p. Represent Kuwait Airways in technical matters in the event of accidents / incidents ensuring that
the requirements of DGCA and ICAO Annex 13 are carried out.
q. Investigate occurrence reports to ensure eliminating the source of any errors and supplying all
applicable information to the Authorities within a reasonable period.
r. Carry out audits as assigned.
s. Accompany external auditors during their audits of Kuwait Airways engineering facilities locally
and internationally.

t. Scheduled and routinely carry out production sample audits which include a review process of a
complete maintenance task.

u. Follow-up the day-to-day technical issues with hangar maintenance, Line maintenance,
Outstations, Amiri Fleet, Materials sections, Fuel Farm (KAFCO),Technical Development,
Planning, Technical Library, Technical Records, Test house, NDT, Training Department and
Engine shops and ensure continuous compliance of management, staff and facilities with

1- Basic Function and Scope :

Ensures the issuance of KAC documents such as Maintenance Organizations Exposition,


Engineering and Quality Control Procedures (Part II) and Engineering Bulletins and
amends them periodically. Issues SPIs for compliance of Airworthiness directives issued
by various Regulatory Authorities and Alert SBs by the manufacturers.

a. Evaluates all airworthiness directives issued by different regulatory authorities such


as FAA, JAA, CAA, DGAC France, all Operators Telex (AOT), Alert Service
Bulletins, Operators Information Telex (OIT) and other related matter and issues
special inspections (SPI) to satisfy the requirements of the Ads, AOTs, etc.

b. Reviews all KAC documents such as maintenance organization exposition,


engineering and quality control procedures ( Part II), company capability List, Base
Maintenance Manual, Engineering Bulletins and JAA and FAA supplements to MOE.
Amends the documents when required and obtains approval from relevant authority
such as Engineering Director, Manager Quality Control and forward to DGCA
Kuwait for their approval.

c. Issues different Quality Control Forms/ technical logs/ cabin defect logs and revises
them as required.

d. Compiles new Minimum Equipment List (MEL) for new aircraft inducted into KAC
fleet in consultation with Technical Development and Operations. Receives revisions
to Master Minimum Equipment list, Dispatch Deviation Guide, Temporary Revisions
from FAA/ manufactures. Studies the revisions and requests from Operations/
Engineering / DGCA-Kuwait and compiles amendments to KAC MELs. Sends the
MEL revisions to DGCA for approval
and follows-up prior to handing over to technical library for distribution.

e. Carries out preliminary studies of secondary organization/ overhaul, repair agencies


for their suitability and competency. Coordinates with DGCA to carry out necessary
survey of secondary organizations. Recommends to DGCA for the issue of Approved
Maintenance Organization (AMO) approval certificates to such secondary
organizations and recommends to Manager Quality Control for the issue of approval

certificates to repair agency/ overhaul agency/ distributors and technical handling
agency for outstation certification of KAC aircraft, as required.

f. Liaises with DGCA and other regulatory authorities for the purchase of new aircraft
and lease/ sale of old KAC aircraft. Fills necessary forms and completes all regulatory
formalities such as C of A, C of R for export de-registration.

g. Coordinates with external Auditors (DGCA, LBA, FFAA,etc), follows-up


and actions any finding as necessary.

a. Assists in providing technical assistance, advice and direction to other


Reliability Engineers in the unit over their work activities.

b. Studies all available technical information such as manufacturers' service


letters, inservice activity reports, advisory circulars from regulatory agencies,
technical titbits issued by manufacturers, airline's significant service
problems summary, airline conference minutes and fleet performance
reports of other airlines, to note and absorb salient information applicable to
KAC aircraft.

c. Periodically scrutinizes technical logs and work sheets to gather information on


defects, delays and incidents, and vets component removals and strip reports.

d. Analyzes collected data from various sources to evolve corrective action


wherever applicable for presentation to the Reliability Control
Committee.

1. Basic Function and Scope:

Carries out various materials planning activities. Includes preparing initial provisioning of
spares, tools and equipment for new aircraft, forecasting requirement of spares,
determining reorder levels of spares for operating aircraft, studying Modification Action
Advice Form (MAF) and Special Inspection (SPI) for spares and tools requirements.

2. Tasks and Duties :

Carries out all or any combination of the following duties as assigned :

a. Prepares initial provisioning of spares, tools and equipment for newly
purchased aircraft based on related manufacturers recommendations
and in-house experience to ensure proper aircraft maintenance support.

b. Studies the consumption trends, participates with other senior engineers in determining
spares reorder levels and recommends quantity of spares to be ordered for operating
aircraft to avoid minimum/nil stock situations.

c. Plans materials requirements pertaining to the extended maintenance program by


reviewing all required tasks related to such program to ensure that all required spares,
tools and equipment are available or under procurement process.

d. Studies the Modification Action Advice Form (MAF) and Special Inspection
(SPIs) for spares and tools requirements by verifying service bulletins and
checking the stores records and spares/tools requirements to ensure
proper and timely completion of required inspections and modifications.

e. Conducts researches and offers clarification for any queries raised by


suppliers, stores or other engineering sections referring to various related
documents such as Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC) Service Bulletins (SBs),
reliability reports, historical data etc.

f. Carries out other similar or related duties, such as assisting in the


preparation of budget estimates of spares for projected flying tasks,
conducting special studies and attending meetings etc.

1. Basic Function and Scope:

Carries out aircraft maintenance planning activities for an assigned fleet of KAC aircraft.
Includes providing work direction, preparing work packages and their amendments,
preparing lists of spares, tools and equipment prior to scheduled maintenance, raising
dispensation requests to assess special projects such as A/Cs Lease operation. Long term
planning, providing training for less experienced unit engineers etc.

4. Tasks and Duties :

a. Provides work direction to other unit engineers and personally prepares


work packages and other documentation for aircraft fleet as assigned.

b. Prepares maintenance work packages for assigned aircraft, inclusive of routine


maintenance cards, modification/special inspection cards, clearance sheets etc. Reviews
the work of subordinate engineers to ensure that all packages are complete and
technically in accordance with manufacturers instructions and airworthiness standards.
