Why does a Balance Sheet balance?

Quick Assets are those assets which are in Cash, or which can be easily convertible to cash. Stocks are an example for Quick
Assets, as it can be convertible easily.

Diminishing Balance Method is better than the Straight line Method, because it reduces the value of the assets more than the
SLM and helps to make a provision from the profits before distributing it, instead of calling the money back again after distributing
the profits to shareholders.

Do you know what N.P.V. discounting is?


N.P.V stands for Net Present Value, which deals with the cash inflow and outflow.
The difference between the present value of cash inflows and the present value of cash outflows.

Does dividend reduce profits?
No, only the operating and adminstartive expenses reduces the profit margin so as the bottom line(profit). Paying Dividend decision
is taken(at the time of appropriation of funds) after knowing what the profit is and based on which either part/whole profit can be
declared as divideds to its shareholders or it can be retain same partially/whole in the company and reinvested in the company
itself. Paying dividends only reduces the amount carried forwarded to reserves and surplus.

What is the highest rate of Depreciation under Income Tax and for what items?
Few of them are, 100% depreciation is allowed for machinery acquired for water supply project or water treatment system and used
for infrastructure facilities. Air, water pollution control equipments, Books.

Does depreciation reduce profit?


Yes, the Net profit gets reduced since the law allows the depreciation amount can be considered as an expenses and charged in
expenses column of income statement, because of which the profit reduces though there is no cash outflow from the company.

What is Current Ratio?


What is the ideal Current Ratio? Why?
In simple, its the assets available with the company to meets its future short term obligations(liabilities)
It is calculated by CURRENT ASSETS/CURRENT LIABILITIES, Ideally it should be 2:1 ratio. It means the company has assets
twice its liabilities, it should be twice because the assets cannot be turned into liquid cash immediately, so if the assets are twice the
chances of converting few assets are higher than another.

What is Capital and Revenue Expenditure?


Any expenses which are incurred for short term gain is Revenue expenditure(example., stationery, or any item which the gain can
be obtained for less than an year) and expenditure which sustains for longer period of time let say more than 2-3 is capital
expenditure(example., Machinery, Building)
What would happen if a company pays a lower dividend?
Company perspective: It can retain the profits and reinvest and increase the shareholder value(market price)
Investors Perspective: It discourages the new investors to invest in that particular stock/company.

Goodwill is an Intabgible asset gained by the company throught its operation over an period of time. In other words its the monetary
figure what the company has earned as Brand Value/Equity from its customers. It is shown in the Asset side of the Balancesheet.

Never be desperate and at the same time not overconfident, in fact be desperately determined.
It not wrong, if you hide the truth sometimes. Never reveal your actual financial backup, that would give wrong signals. Put yourself
in normal, moderate situation.

Say that you want to climb the ladder, and reach the next possible position in the organisation, which would give hint to the

You can list your requirements. But to be at safe side, say which provides balance of work and life to its employees.

Because I am unemployed.... I used this answer in an interview to make the interviewer smile.

It always better to take the interview on the lighter side, and humorous. But some times it doesn't work.
Highlight how different you are, for eg., with a example of how quick learner you are, and how you can do justice to the role than
other who sitting outside the hall.

Just I require a change is the most common answer an interview listen. If you want to stand out in the crowd say I am happy with
my present job, but my learning are getting limited to a particular task or I want to enter the next level of my learning.

17. Why should we hire you? You can state that you are hardworking and can be smart and confident in
your work. Give positive answers about yourself for this question. But, never try to compare yourself with
the fellow applicants to show you are the best.

18. What are your strengths? You can point out your strengths like I am a good listener and observer, I
can handle work with patience and you can also state that I am compatible and flexible to anyone. But,
give these answers only if you can act as per your words.

19. Why did you leave your last job? Even though, you might be angry with your previous boss or
previous co-workers and this was the main reason why you are looking for a new job, do not state this as
the reason. You can state that you wish to work for a new boss and new environment and wish to meet new
colleagues. You can also state that I am looking for a job with more responsibilities.

20. What are your weaknesses? Even though, you are asked about your weaknesses, you should never
give answers that would spoil your selection process. You can give answers like I will never feel
comfortable, until I complete the work allotted to me. You can state your straightforwardness and smiling
face as your weakness and so you cannot say no to other when a help is asked.

21. Tell me about yourself. Here, you can follow two different approaches of answering. You can tell your
past personal story and get out with a sap. The second approach is that you can tell about your education
and past employments and remember that common wisdom suggests the latter to be ideal.

great atmosphere, friendly colleagues, etc...

achieving goals and for influencing valuable changes. You can also state that you are open to new ideas
and constructive criticisms. You can also state that I can identify the skill set of each member in my group
and will accordingly delegate the responsibility as a team leader.

24. What is your philosophy toward work? The best idea to answer this question is to avoid adjectives.
Rather, you can talk about the basic values that you have adopted in the past jobs or you can also talk
about the energy you brought to your earlier job teams to improve the performance.

25. Do you consider yourself successful? Your answer to this question should undoubtedly be
affirmative. You can state that success does not mean to conquer the world and can describe your past
accomplishments and the proud moments in your professional life.
