Task Outline:
You have been commissioned by Ford Motors Australia to design and Model a car that
runs on renewable energy

Task Description:
You need to design and construct a toy car that runs on a renewable energy resource. The
budget allocated for making this car CANNOT exceed $20. Please try to be as creative as
possible and use recycled materials when possible.

Final submission should include:

Brainstorm
Background research
Design drawing
Budget sheet
Model of the car
Please self-mark your work and submit a reflection (10-12 sentences) along with the final
task.

Reflection (10-12 sentences):
So, when I heard that for our science assessment where making a car I was so happy I
was jumping in the air I was completely speechless because car has been my favourite
thing in all my life and that is why I like this task. 3 days after I was speechless I when
to buy some part and I bought a brand-new DC motor, gears, Battery plug, A 9v Battery,
wood from Bunnings, a metal axle, duct tape, and Some wooden wheels. Those are all
the materials I used to make this incredible car. But suddenly a professional engineer
stopped me out of nowhere and told me how to put the parts all together and then he
spent half an hour explaining how to put together and how to do it. So, when I got I did
exactly what he told me, he told me to put the metal axle the whole of the cars axle
place and because the axle was too small for the whole I wrapped some tape around
the metal axle so it fits perfectly and it did. So, I hot glue gunned everything in place
and the car turned out to be spectacular.
