Life cycle of frog
Frog is an amphibian .It can live both on land and in water. Life cycle of a frog
completes in different stages.
The Egg
Frogs lay their eggs in water. A floating mass of eggs is called frog spawn
Tadpole
The eggs hatch to form tiny tadpoles. They stick to weeds in the water. These tadpoles
develop external gills. They eat very small plants called algae. The tadpole has a long
tail.
Tadpole with hind legs.
Tadpole starts to grow hind legs, and use them for swimming. Gills become internal.
They have long tails.
Tadpole with back legs and front legs.
Forelegs develop after hind legs. Lungs begin to develop for its life on land. The tail
