COURSE OUTLINE

LABOR LAW 1: LABOR STANDARDS

Course Description
Labor Law 1 is Labor Standards and covers Book I to IV of the Labor
Code of the Philippines (Articles 1 to 210) including its Implementing
Rules and Regulations. In order to comprehend Labor Standards,
included in the course outline is the Introduction to Labor Law and
pertinent provisions of the Labor Code on labor relations (Book V and
VI). Also included are labor law related legislations that affect labor
standards such as SSS law, 13th Month Pay, Paternity Leave, Anti-
Sexual Harassment Law and so forth.

Course Learning Objectives


At the end of this course, students will be able to:
Critically understand the provisions of the otherwise
dynamic nature of the Labor Code and related laws;
Equip them to prepare for the Bar Exams;
Intelligently apply their knowledge of labor and employment
law in the practice of profession.
