1.0 INTRODUCTION
THE PROJECT
The proposed new building is constructing for University of Colombo, Faculty of Management
and Finance. It is design and build project and the main contractor is Kandy Construction.

Client has decided to raise finish ground floor level up to 600mm from existing building plinth level

6.2 Extra Work & Variation


Due to raise of finished floor level son items have become as variation items,

Form work, reinforcement work and concreting of sub structure column,


Rubble work
Filling work of foundation
Main Entrance door has been changed into power door
Client has discussed to change flat ceiling in to curved ceiling at third floor level in mini
Auditorium
In the last Meeting client has discussed to introduce finger print machine for every
lecture hall.
Client has discussed to introduce Auto glass door for main door
Client has decided to introduce telephone line for only store rooms ( Separate contract)
Potable finger print machine is going to introduce for each lecture room (Separate
contract)
Wifi facility is going to introduce for each lecture room (Separate contract)

6.3Issues Resolved Within the Period


None

6.4Delays & Interruptions Occurred


1. Due to bad weather condition some construction activities has been delayed it is indicated in
weather report.
2. Due to mobilization advance delay
3. Ceiling work of auditorium cannot be started until finalizing A/C system in auditorium floor
4. After completing AC installation work .Final painting can be started
