Operating Environment and 2.4 GHz Radio Variants
The Accutech line of Wireless Instrumentation
now offers new features designed to optimise the
user environment and license free ISM frequency
bands suitable for global wireless network
applications.
Operating Environment
The Accutech 2.0 environment is comprised of
new firmware operating in both the field devices
and base radios, enabling a wide range of new
features. In addition, Accutech Manager, the
configuration software that comes with all
Accutech products, has been upgraded with new
features, including the firmware downloading
interface, reading of configuration variables and
enhanced diagnostics viewing.
Over-the-Air Firmware Upgrades
End-users are now able to upload firmware to field
devices without visiting the units by accessing the
wireless network using Accutech Manager in a PC
connected to the base radio, selecting the field
unit to update then sending the new firmware load
to the device.
Enhanced Diagnostics
Accutech 2.0 now offers an expanded set of
diagnostics available through Accutech Manager,
including Diagnostics Status, Event Logs, Event
Counters and Statistics.
Security of Authentication
Enhanced security of authentication is achieved
with regards to the desired communication

base radio using Accutech
features with exception of the following minor

Battery Life
The 2.4GHz products are housed in a two-
tier Lexan enclosure. The sealed battery
compartment is larger in order to house a
single D-cell lithium battery, versus a single
C-cell lithium battery found in the 900MHz
option. This increases the battery life by
approximately 3 years, giving the Accutech
2.4GHz an average life span of 6+ years.
External Antenna
The Accutech 2.4GHz product comes with
an external antenna connector on the lower
battery enclosure. This allows the end user
to easily install an antenna at any time,
simply selecting the antenna through the
LCD interface on the unit when attaching it
in the field.
