To whom it may concern,

I am writing to apply for the Speaker Paul Ryan Intern position. I am interested in an internship through Speaker Ryan
because of his dedication to serve his constituents, and also the respectful nature in which he governs. Serving as an intern
for Speaker Paul Ryan, I will have the opportunity to utilize the skills that I have been developing in my college studies
and apply them in a real-life setting, as well as grow in my understanding of the way in which United States politics
function.

Currently, I am enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh pursuing a degree in Political Science. I have excelled in
my studies and have taken an interest in United States political processes, as well as law and policy. After spending time
in the grassroots movements of local campaigns, I am looking to expand my skills and begin to better understand the
aspects of public service that are illustrated in the legislative branch.

My work experience includes my current Workforce Management Internship at Alta Resources, my time spent as a Barista
at Copper Rock Coffee Co., and also a Communications Internship through the Republican Party of Wisconsin. Working
as a Communications Intern for the Republican Party of Wisconsin, I learned a lot of what it takes to be a reliable member
of a political team, and also how significant the smaller details are in the larger scheme. I spent my time writing memos
regarding events and gatherings of elected public officials, as well as engaging with voters via phone calls. This
experience led to my interest in joining a local congressional campaign this summer, where I am currently an active
volunteer. In January of 2015, I became a Barista at Copper Rock Coffee Co. This position helped me develop business
and communication skills with employees, management, and customers. I worked to establish relationships with
customers while providing excellent customer service, as well as contributed to the Copper Rock team at large by
recognizing tasks that needed to be accomplished, and putting forth my best effort. During the fall of 2015, I began
working at Alta Resources in Workforce Management and Quality. As a Quality/Workforce Management Intern, I am
responsible for numerous activities regarding the insurance of efficiency of staff performance, which requires me to work
with management and clients on a daily basis. I believe my skills, work ethic, and passion for politics make me a good
candidate for your opening.

I look forward to an opportunity to speak with you. Attached is my resume, which details my qualifications further. You
can reach me at my phone number of (920) 213-0960. Thank you for considering my application.

Sincerely,

Vanessa VandeHey
