Bruxelles, 1 June 2017

Interarts is pleased to announce its participation at the European Development Days, 7-8
June at Tour and Taxis (Bruxelles).

Interarts will invite different speakers to their booth at the EDD event to discuss contempo-
rary issues in the development sector. The constructive subjects that will be tackled during
the three pop-up debates are:

1. Culture and Urban Development

With an address to LAIC project

The session will showcase the lessons learned on how the role of art and cultural practices
can be vectors of inclusive and sustainable development and facilitate exchanges and joint
actions between the EU and Latin America aimed at better integrating cultural and artistic
initiatives in urban development strategies and cooperation policies.

The LAIC project provides relevant examples of how artists, cultural operators and civil
society activists from both the EU and LA- develop innovative initiatives, which respond to
current challenges (social, urban, environmental, in general, & mobility, equality, resilience,
violence, in particular) in LA cities.

rights, gender, diversity, inclusion social and the environment. The SouthMed WiA project
addresses issues related to the perpetuation of gender based stereotypes and the under-
