Hand Planes

Lie-Nielsen No. 7 Jointer Plane

Lie-Nielsen's collection of bench planes

is the most complete currently in
production, covering the gamut from the
No. 8 Jointer to the irresistible little No.
1. Nos. 1 & 2 are fully usable planes,
though their tiny size and historical
rarity makes them as much collector's
items as working tools.

Each of these hand planes features

meticulous construction, low-tolerance
machining and Bed Rock style body and frog design. Soles and sides are milled flat
within less than .002" maximum deviation, and the finish is so smooth that these
planes are nearly friction-free. Note that No. 3 & No. 4 Smooth Planes are available in
your choice of ductile iron or silicon bronze body castings. Nos. 4-1/2, 5, 5-1/2, 6, 7 &
8 are cast only in unbreakable ductile iron. Frogs on all models are cast in bronze.
Bed Rock castings, both sole and side rails, are considerably heavier than those of
ordinary planes, and the frog is radically more stable and more adjustable. Throat
opening can be adjusted without removing the irons, and the iron remains fully
supported no matter how small an opening you set. Irons are over 1/8" thick,
providing extraordinarily smooth cutting action. Heavy irons, stable frogs and tiny
throat openings combine to allow planing performance that's simply impossible with
other planes; you can plane reversed grain, quilted or fiddleback figured timbers, and
even knots with no tearout, no chatter, and no loss of control at all. Lie-Nielsen's
polished bronze lever caps and custom cherry handles perfectly complement the
quality of these beautiful tools.

Iron Width: 2-3/8" Overall Length: 22" Frog Angle: 45

Lie-Nielsen No. 4 Cast Ductile Iron

Smooth Plane

Lie-Nielsen's collection of bench planes,

arguably the most beautiful ever made, is
now the most complete currently in
production, covering the gamut from the
magnificent No. 8 Jointer to the irresistible
little No. 1. Numbers 1 & 2 are fully functional
planes, though their exquisite miniaturization
and historical rarity makes them as
interesting to collectors as they are to working
hand tool enthusiasts.

Each of these planes features meticulous construction, low-tolerance machining and

Bed Rock body and frog design. Soles and sides are milled reliably flat and square,
and their finish is so smooth that they hardly need more than a well-buffed coat of
wax to be practically friction-free. Bed Rock castings, both sole and side rails, are
considerably heavier than those of Bailey-style planes, and the frog in particular is
radically more stable, supportive and adjustable. The throat opening can be altered
without removing the iron, which remains supported all the way to the heel of the
bevel regardless of how tight a throat you set. Lie-Nielsen irons are likewise heavier
and more carefully processed than run-of-the-mill tools. They're tempered to Rc 60-
62 for excellent edge longevity, and the rigidity afforded by their 1/8" thickness
makes their performance simply outstanding. These planes cut beautifuly where
others fail: reversed grain, quilted or fiddleback timbers, even knots and end grain
can be shaved cleanly, with no tearout, no chatter, no loss of control at all.

The smaller plane sizes up to No. 4 are cast in silicon bronze, larger sizes in cast
ductile iron (note that 2s, 3s & 4s are also available in cast ductile iron). On all sizes,
the handle and front knob are gloss-finished cherry, and the lever caps are gleaming
bronze.

Iron Width: 2" Overall Length: 9-1/2"

Stanley 60-1/2 Low Angle Block Plane

Stanley Block Planes, with stout little cast

bodies, are versatile planes with lateral
iron adjustment levers so you can fine-
tune your cut. Stanley's 60 1/2 plane iron
is set at just 13-1/2 for very clean work
on end grain. The 1-3/8" iron and throat
opening are fully adjustable. Plane is 7"
long. Weighs 1-1/2 lbs. Made in Mexico.

Lie-Nielsen No. 60-1/2RN Low Angle Rabbet Block Plane with Nicker

Lie-Nielsen's No. 60-1/2RN Rabbet Block

Plane is a low-angle (12) block plane
with open sides and an iron shaped for
rabbeting and trimming joints to
perfection. The sharp nicker slices the
wood when planing across the grain for
a smooth cut. Iron and sole are 1-3/4"
wide; total length is 6-1/4". The body is
unbreakable ductile iron, and the lever
cap is polished bronze. Weighs 1-3/4 lbs.
Lie-Nielsen Low-Angle Adjustable-
Mouth Block Plane 60-1/2

The beautiful Lie-Nielsen Low-Angle

Adjustable-Mouth Block Plane has a large
bronze cap iron that fits the hand perfectly.
The adjustable throat can be set to a wide
opening for heavy work, or barely as wide as
a shaving for the most controlled finish cuts.
Bed angle is 12 degrees on the low-angle
plane, 20 degrees on the standard. Irons are
1-3/8" wide by 1/8" thick; bodies are 6-1/4"
long and are made of unbreakable ductile
iron. Consider Lie-Nielsen's optional leather
holster to protect your plane.
Veritas Low Angle Spokeshave

The Veritas Low Angle Spokeshave really is an improvement over conventional

designs. Like some of the best shaves on the market today, it's based on 19th
century wooden spokeshave design. A wide blade, bevel down, actually serves as
part of the sole of the shave. Veritas
has realized that one needn't adjust
the iron to change depth of cut; it's
much easier to adjust the toe piece
forward of the blade instead. Thus
they've created a shave with a rock
solid blade mount, simple, inexpensive
hardware design, and an easily
adjusted reversible toe piece that can
handle flat or concave work equally
well. The shave's body is solid die-cast
aluminum, which gives it nice heft for
its small size. The 2" wide, 1/8" thick
blade is made of extremely hard A2
tool steel, which holds an edge several
times longer than regular high-carbon
steel. Overal width is 10-1/2".

Joinery Tools
Narex Boxed 6-Piece Bench Chisel Set

Narex Czech-made bevel edged chisels are a

fine value. European beech handles feature
well-seated heavy steel ferrules to withstand
vigorous mallet work; bolstered tangs are also
ferruled for durability. The blades are
excellent: fine-grained, nicely tempered
chrome-manganese steel (Rc 58) that takes
and holds a beautiful edge without brittleness.
Like most edge tools, they'll need sharpening
before use; and like most chisels, they'll feel
better and work better after you've gentled
their long edges and flattened their backs.
The set is presented in a wooden box with
clasp. Sizes include 6mm (~1/4"), 10mm
(~3/8"), 12mm (~1/2"), 16mm (~5/8"), 20mm
(~3/4") & 26mm (~1") sizes. Inch equivalents
are approximate.
225g Polished Octagonal Hammer

Designed to propel Japanese chisels, these make

excellent general-purpose hammers for driving
nails or "adjusting" setups. The black fiberglass
handle shaft, wrapped in a hard black rubber
hand grip, provides comfort and durability.
Handles are a bit long for the head weight, so you
can choke up for control or swing from the butt
end for power. One face of the steel head is flat,
the other domed. 225g model weighs 8 oz. with a
12" handle and a 3-1/8" head. A remarkable value for the price.

Dead Blow Mallet . 22 oz.

Hundreds of metal shot inside the head provide

maximum striking force without rebound. Durable,
non-marring polypropylene head and handle.

Steel Engineer's Square - 6 inch

The 6 inch sized engineer square is our most popular size providing
the needed precision for accurate layout work and for precise
calibration of machines and jigs. Comes packed in a protective
case.

Woodworker's 6 inch Dial Caliper

This fine machinist-quality 6 inch dial caliper

may well become your personal "ultimate
measuring tool". We call it a woodworker's
caliper because it is calibrated in 64ths of an
inch, with major divisions marked in the terms
you're most familiar with: 1/16", 1/8", 3/16",
1/4" and so on around the dial. The face is
large (1-3/8" dia.) and exceptionally easy to
read; dimensions as small as 1/128" are
visible at a glance. The inner scale reads in
hundredths of an inch, which is useful for
machine work and serves as a handy
conversion table as well. The scale on the bar
shows mm on the top and sixteenths of an inch on the bottom. Stainless steel.
Veritas Wheel Marking Gauge

The cutting wheel on these Veritas gauges

starts and marks smoothly, without having
to worry about attack angle and without
tearing during cross-grain marking. The
hardened steel wheel is ground sharp with
the bevel on the inside, so it naturally pulls
the gauge tight against your stock and
resists following uncooperative grain.
Available with standard unmarked bar or
with bars graduated in inches or millimeters.

Tite-Mark Marking Gauge

The Tite-Mark Marking Gauge is a beautifully

made gauge featuring dial-in micro
adjustability for fabulously easy precision
setting. Every detail has been attended to with
care. The file hard (Rc60) marking blade is
round, but it doesn't rotate during use; it slices
with or across the grain as cleanly as a knife.
The lockable brass head and tail, fitted with
spring-loaded locking screws and a nylon
tension screw as well, slice along a groove
milled in the beam to keep them from rotating
during micro-adjustment. The stout knurled
brass adjustment nut is 1" wide for easy fingertip access. The head, 1-5/8" in
diameter, is fitted with a countersink that houses the blade safely out of harm's way
when not in use. It's a lovely tool, and beautifully functional, too.

Crown Deluxe Marking & Mortise

Gauge

Crown's deluxe model is similar to the

Marking & Mortise Gauge except it features
a thumbscrew-operated slide enabling
precise setting of mortise width. 7-1/2" long.
Starrett Combination Square

The Starrett combination square is

one of the most versatile and useful
marking and measuring tools in the
woodworking shop. Carefully
machined and manufactured in the
USA since 1878, Starrett squares are
known for their accuracy, reliability,
precision and long service life. Dead
accurate like a high quality
engineer's square, and far more
versatile and precise than a try
square, a Starrett combination square has a head made from durable cast iron or
hardened steel. The rules (blades)
are hardened, tempered steel with
photo-engraved graduations that
will never wear out and have a
non-glare satin chrome finish.
Often copied, but rarely duplicated,
a Starrett combination square will
be a tool you will rely on year after
year for accurate joint layout,
checking your work for perfect
square & 45 degree angles, and for
accurately setting up your
woodworking machines.

Shinwa Sliding Bevel - 10 inch

This premium Japanese aluminum bevel's locking

screw is in the end of the handle, so you can lay the
bevel flat on either side. The heavy blade's generous
length makes it very convenient for laying out
complementary angles.

Japanese Marking Knife

This simple tool is remarkably comfortable & well-

balanced. The laminated steel blade is beveled on
one side only, so the cutting edge lies flush against
a square, and stands vertically for clean & accurate
marking. The back of the blade is hollowed to
speed the honing process, incidentally providing a
nice fit for the right thumb.
General Precision Steel Rule - 6 inch

This excellent rule features a satin chrome

non-glare finish with fine black-filled
graduations and clear numerals. One side of
the rule is graduated in 32nds & 64ths, the
other side in mm & 1/2mm. Both ends are
square; scales read from each end. The rule
is 6" long by 3/4".

GeneralPrecision Steel Rule - 12 inch

This excellent rule features a satin chrome

non-glare finish with fine black-filled
graduations and clear numerals. One side of
the rule is graduated in 32nds & 64ths, the
other side in mm & 1/2mm. Both ends are
square; scales read from each end. The 12"
long by 1" wide rule is stiff enough to double as a light straightedge.

ProCarpenter 16' Left & Right Reading Tape

The first thing you notice when you check out the
ProCarpenter Tri-Tapes is the erasable writing surface
on the case, which lets you jot down a measurement
without having to simultaneously hold the tape
measure, the pencil, and a piece of paper while
balancing atop a wobbly ladder. On closer inspection,
you'll find other thoughtful improvements: the steel
tape is 30% thicker than other tape blades to allow
longer reaches, the hook is held with four rivets
instead of the usual two, a rubber boot armors the
case and makes it easier to grip, increments down to
1/16" or 1mm are easy to read, there's an integral
pencil sharpener, and a "hold" button temporarily
stops the tape in position in addition to the standard
slide lock.

Japanese Silky Woodboy Dozuki Saw

Silky's folding Dozuki joinery saw is simply fantastic. It

features a no-set Japanese tooth pattern at 27 tpi with
elegantly tapered ground blades - once the height of the
sawmaker's art. This means you get an amazingly thin
kerf (.025") with little, if any, binding or wandering off
the layout line. It's perfect for intricate joinery. The
Woodboy has two thumb release open positions; one for
standard work, the other for tight spots or for kerfing
dados. The blade folds into a sure-grip rubberized
handle, making it easily portable while protecting the
teeth. The unfolded length is 22". Blade length is 9-1/2".
The maximum depth of cut is 1-3/4".

Ikedame Dozuki Saw

Ikedame Dozuki Saw fine cross-cutting
saw for joinery work. Dozuki means
"attached trunk", the stiff stripped
backsaw. 17 tpi. Blade thickness is .
012", kerf is .018". Blade length is
240mm (9-5/8"). Overall length is 23-
7/8". Weighs 8-1/4 oz.

Eclipse Coping Saw - 4-5/8 inch deep

This professional quality English coping saw's

frame has excellent beam strength for high blade
tension and superior performance. The 6-1/2 inch,
10 tpi blade is set wide for very tight radius
capability. Cuts up to 4-5/8 inches deep.

Japanese Flexible Flush-Cut Saw

With 22 teeth per inch, no set, and a thin,

very flexible blade, this Japanese Flexible
Flush-Cut Saw is designed for glassy-smooth
flush cutting dowels, plugs, thru tenons and
other protrusions without marring adjacent
surfaces. In use, the handle is usually held
at a modest angle with about 2/3 of the
blade's length pressed gently against the
workpiece. Blade length 6"; overall length
14-1/4".

Eclipse Quick Release Bench Vise

Eclipse vises feature a quick-action lever under the

drop handle which disengages the vise screw and
permits instant adjustment to any point up to the
vise's maximum capacity. The smoothness of
operation afforded by this feature allows an efficient
rhythm to develop for the hand tool woodworker, and
will quickly establish the vise as one of the most
versatile and frequently used tools in the workshop.

Heavy cast iron jaws and solid steel slide rods contribute to a vise made for lifetimes
of rugged use. The jaws are toed in slightly toward the top edge to assure positive
clamping under the heaviest pressure. The large opening capacity of these vises
allows them to be fitted with heavy wooden jaws considerably wider than the vise
itself, providing immense holding power for very large or heavy workpieces or a wide
variety of shop jigs and tools.

Simply extend the dog above the workbench top and use it to clamp your workpiece
against another dog in your bench. The vises are easily mounted to practically any
kind of workbench and may be used in any configuration you choose.
Pattern Maker's Woodworking Vise

Copied from the famous Emmert Pattern

Maker's vise, this is the most versatile stock
control device you've ever imagined. First, of
course, it's a large, heavy and powerful cast
iron bench vise. The patternmaker vise's
unique mounting system makes it far more
than that. Unlock a lever and the vise rotates
180 to reveal a pair of carver's jaws just 2"
wide, which stand 2-1/8" above the flat jaws
to hold small or oddly shaped objects above bench level. Rotate the vise just 90 and
you have open vertical clamping for working on legs, panels, and other tall pieces.
Loosen another lever, and the entire vise swings upward up to 90, putting the jaws
parallel to the benchtop or at any angle in between. Main jaws are 13-3/4" wide by 5"
deep, with a maximum working opening of 13".

In any configuration, a crank on the front jaw can vary its alignment by up to 5 left
or right, perfect for holding tapered legs or other stock. A 5-3/4" x 5" cast iron
auxiliary jaw that mounts in the right side of the vise tilts 20 up or down, providing
another option for holding tapered work. Pairs of spring-loaded dogs face each other
across the main jaws; they set up to 2-1/4" high for 3- or 4-point control of virtually
any shape. The owner's manual is startlingly clear and thorough, including a precise
template for marking and mortising your bench to house the vise.

Veritas Round Bench Dogs - Pair

Veritas' simple but functional design makes these

dogs very easy to build in or retrofit into any bench.
Boring a simple 3/4" hole vertically through the
bench surface is the only installation work required.
Dogs are 4-3/8" long, with friction springs to make
them usable in any benchtop thickness. 5 undercut
face grips securely, and can be rotated as needed to
hold stock that isn't square.

Veritas Wonder Dog

Veritas Wonder Dogs are wonderfully useful

accessories for any bench. Wonder Dogs mount in
3/4" drilled holes to provide the moving half of a
standard bench dog system without the need for a
tail vise, so (together with Veritas Round Bench Dogs,
#419714) they're perfect for retro-fitting into heavy
benches built without dogs. They can also be used in
multi-directional, multi-dog holding systems (they
pivot in any direction), shop-built wooden clamps,
and custom holding or shaping jigs. Dog post is 4-
3/8" high. A steel spring wire keeps it from slipping.
The screw angles downward 2" for secure grip. The
brass clamp face is 3/4" high; the post stands a
minimum of 7/8" above the bench.

Bessey Light Duty Bar Clamp

Bessey LM Light Duty Bar Clamps have 2 inch deep zinc die cast jaws,
serrated rails for slip resistant grip and non-marring plastic caps. They
can handle up to 330 lbs of clamping pressure. Available in 4, 6, 8 and
12 inch capacity.

Quick Action Clamps in sizes 6, 12, 24 or 36

inches - Apply up to 330 lbs. of force!

Now you can affordably expand your personal

clamping arsenal with these nicely priced dual-
function light weight bar clamp / spreaders. Not only
do they make excellent one-handed pump action
clamps for positioning, glue-up & repair, in no time
flat they convert into spreaders for joint disassembly
or for leveling jacks in cabinet installations. High
strength resin jaws with pliable pads are 3-3/8 inch
deep. Steel clamping bar is 3/4 inch wide x 1/4 inch
thick.

Bessey PC-2 Pipe Clamp

Pipe clamps are the most affordable way to outfit

your shop with the many bar clamps you need to
complete almost any project. Use ordinary black
iron pipe (threaded on at least one end) to make
clamps of any length. Note that each clamp head
set can be used on as many different lengths of
pipe as you choose. A half-dozen fixtures can
effectively do the work of hundreds of dollars
worth of 2 foot, 3 foot and 4 foot clamps.
Minimize the effect of pipe's flexibility by placing
clamps alternately above and below glued-up
panels. Each head & tail 2-piece set makes one
clamp.

The PC-2 pipe clamp has a wide, stable bases and a high clearance
to make gluing panels easier. The ACME threaded spindle with
speed handle provides enough clamping force for all your projects.
Included clamp pads protect the surface of your workpiece.

Glue Spreader Kit

This 1 pint bottle comes with a 2-3/8" roller cap, two styles of
4mm biscuit joiner tips, and a sealing cap.

Horsehair Bench Brush

Long, soft, horsehair bristles sweep the finest dust out of pores
and away from surfaces without burnishing or marking the softest
surface or finest finish. Bristle head is 3" x 8". Maple handle. 13-
1/2" long.

Sharpening Tools
Standard Water stone 3 Stone Set

This essential water stone set includes a 240

grit Green Stone, 1000 grit Medium & 6000 grit
Fine stones, covering every need from vigorous
hand grinding to honing sharper than a razor
blade. The large Green Stone measures 3-1/8"
wide, 8-1/4" long and 2-1/8" thick. The standard
1000 stone is 2-1/2" x 8" x 1-1/4", and the 6000
finish stone is 2-1/2" x 7-1/4" x 1/2", mounted
on a plastic base for durability.

You might use the Green Stone quite a bit at first, as you grind all your tools into
good basic condition: straight, square, suitable bevel angle and no remaining flaws or
damage. During an ordinary day in the shop you'll use mostly the 1000 and 6000 grit
stones. Unless you stop to re-hone very frequently, count on taking a lightly dulled
tool to the 1000 grit stone for just a minute or less to re-establish a sharp edge. Then
follow up with a minute's work on the 6000 stone to polish to a mirror shine and a
level of sharpness that simply will spoil you rotten.

All our waterstones are man-made; their abrasive is sieved for accurate grit size and
freedom from impurities, and the bonding process is very carefully controlled to
ensure consistently reliable performance. Medium and fine stones are relatively soft,
which means that every stroke of a tool exposes fresh, sharp grit and quickly builds
an abrasive slurry which is a key ingredient in the stones' excellent performance.
Their fast wear rate (don't be overly concerned about "fast", it means most
waterstones probably won't last more than five to twenty years depending on use),
together with their very hard, sharp aluminum oxide abrasive makes for extremely
effective sharpening on even the hardest tool steel.

Nagura Stone

Nagura stones are very useful accessories for 4000, 6000,

8000 and 10,000 grit finishing waterstones; they are used
for cleaning and flattening the stones before and during
use, and for creating a slurry of loose grit which is the
source of the stones' unique polishing properties. May be
soaked before use.

Waterstone Holder

Heavy rubber blocks hold stones from 1-1/2" to 9"

long with excellent traction on any surface. The
end block adjusts easily on smooth, chrome-
plated steel rods, while its tight fit resists fouling
wih sharpening debris.
EZE-LAP Diamond Paddles

These are perfect for reshaping and

restoring edges on many cutting and
drilling tools. Their light weight and
small size make them handy for jobs
where bigger stones are hard to handle or just won't fit. Diamond-coated surface is
3/4" x 2" on a 6" plastic paddle. This grit is not recommended for resharpening
carbide-tipped router bits; coarse abrasive grains can shatter brittle carbide edges
and leave them worse than when you started. If a bit needs more than touch-up
honing, we recommend that you send it out for professional regrinding, then improve
and maintain it with fine and extra-fine diamond paddles.

Wood Finishing
David Barron Magnetic Dovetail Saw Guide

Magnetic Dovetail Saw Guides make it easier than ever

to achieve perfect dovetails with your handsaw. Using
powerful rare earth magnets covered with a low friction
membrane, these dovetail saw guides by David Barron
securely hold the blade of your dovetail saw at the
desired angle as you hand cut your dovetails. The guide
enables you to cut closer to your layout lines, straight
and true for each cut, which means you will spend less
time having to pare away material with a chisel to obtain
a good fit.

The jig lets you cut the pins and tails for both through
and half-blind dovetails. Made in the U.K. from anodized aluminum, there are 5
models (angles) available. The steeper angles are often used with softwoods, while
the shallow angles are for hardwoods, but in essence, the angle you choose
(sometimes called slope), is really just a personal
preference.

Crown Round Burnisher

Crown's traditional rosewood-handled burnisher with

polished HSS rod works economically and well on
straight or curved scrapers.

Kunz No. 80 Handled Scraper

The Kunz No. 80 Handled Scraper tool excels

at taking down flat, open surfaces quickly
and easily, with far less strain and heat on
the fingers than card scrapers create. The
blade is sharpened at a 25-45 bevel, and
the cutting edge is then lightly turned
toward the back with a burnisher. The blade can be set to take full-width shavings, or
it can be bowed slightly with a thumb screw for very delicate finish shavings with no
edge beads showing. Blade is 2-3/4" wide.

window to the leading cutting edge of the blade
and affords tighter, close-to-the-wall cutting. The
blade tilt now goes from negative 1 to 47 and a
blade depth scale lets you read the blade depth
while on the guide track or sitting right on the material. A micro-adjust lets you fine
tune the depth of cut, a retractable splitter now can extend into a previous saw kerf
for blade alignment, while the improved splinter guard keeps your cuts clean. You get
the same powerful motor as the previous track saw model TS 55 EQ, unparalleled
dust extraction with a vacuum connected and fast blade changes. The 6-1/4" 48t
blade cuts 1-15/16" at 90 and 1-7/16" at 45. Includes a 55" guide rail & Systainer
case. Weighs 9.9 lbs.

Festool CXS & TXS Compact Cordless Drill Drivers - 2.6Ah Batteries

The CXS and the brand new TXS Cordless Drill

Drivers are the smallest, lightest drills in Festool's
line. Their light weight (~2 lbs) and compact size
are ideal for use in tight spaces. On both drills the
battery is located low in the handle to better
balance the drill and provide maximum comfort,
even in extended use. The new TXS model
features the comfortably familiar T-handle design
that some people prefer.

Both the CXS and TXS feature a removable-

reversible belt clip, magnetic bit storage, an LED
to light your workspace and a "Fuel Gauge" to tell the charge status of your battery.
Triton 3-1/4 HP Plunge Router

This distinctive router created by Triton Workshop

Systems reflects new thinking about a lot more
than just the unique body design. Triton's engineers
have incorporated several innovative features with
instant appeal for woodworkers.

No more stooping under the router

table: A through-the-table winder handle
lets you easily change the height of your
router bit from above the table. Simply
insert the winder handle from above the
table and rotate it to raise or lower the
height of the router bit. (You'll need to
create an access hole in your router insert
drop-in plate or table that you've attached
the router to.)

Rack & pinion plunge drive: Rotating the right handle one full revolution
drives the router up or down through its entire plunge range (2-5/8"). This
makes depth setting fast, positive and downright easy in either hand-held or
table-mounted configuration. Press a button in the handle to disengage the
rack & pinion and employ ordinary manual plunge action. A built-in micro-
adjuster works anywhere within the plunge range when rack and pinion drive
mode is selected.

One-wrench bit change below the base: The collet can be plunged 5/8"
beyond the router base, automatically engaging a spindle lock and
simultaneously locking off the power switch to make accidental start-up
impossible. This leaves you free to wield the collet wrench one-handed while
holding the bit or steadying the router with the other hand. It may be hard to
believe until you see it, but changing bits in table-mounted mode is even
easier than in hand-held mode. The collet's extraordinary protrusion means
the system works flawlessly with drop-in subbases up to 1/2" thick, letting you
work out in the open above the table surface. Incidentally, the spindle can be
locked without plunging the collet all the way down, though you'll have to
remove one of the dust shields to do so.

Quick release return spring : The rack & pinion system works quite well in
table mode without altering the router, but if you prefer to remove the plunge
return spring all you have to do is twist a knob to pop the spring out or
reinstall it for hand-held work.

Effective dust control : Since you don't need access to the collet above the
base, Triton has attached chip shields both front and back, with a vacuum port
built in for efficient waste collection during surface routing.

Easily adjusted plunge stop turret : Individual stops on the rotating turret
are easily set where you want them, with direct reading calibration for fast
simplicity.
Unique edge guide/circle jig/extended base plate : Standard equipment
includes an easily installed base plate that nearly doubles the router's
footprint, a real boon to stability when you're routing edges hand-held with
large bits. A detachable fence turns the base plate into an edge guide, and a
pivot pin turns it into a circle cutting jig.

Triton's soft-start motor (15 amps) runs the router at speeds from 8,000 to
21,000 RPM, with constant torque regardless of load. Total weight is 13-1/2
lbs. Standard equipment in addition to the edge guide system includes a 1/4"
x 1/2" collet adapter. 1-year warranty.
