{ENTER BRANCH NAME} - Professional Review Interviews 20{YEAR}

{ENTER VENUE NAME}, {ENTER INTERVIEW DATE}

Further to your application to enter the Professional Review, I am pleased to advise you of
the following arrangements for your interview:

a). Your interview will be held at the above venue and date stipulated.

b). You will be interviewed by two trained reviewers who have been selected to have
similar experience to your own. Once you receive the time of your interview I strongly
recommend that you plan to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled interview time.
One of the reviewers will call you in for your interview when they have completed
their preparations.

c). The primary purpose of the interview is for you to demonstrate that you have the
competencies, abilities and knowledge required to be a Professional Member.

By the time of your interview, both reviewers will have studied your submission.
Irrespective of the IPD route you have followed, you are at liberty to bring any
additional information to the interview (such as drawings, calculations, photographs,
etc.) that you feel may be of use to you in the interview, provided it is NOT in
electronic format requiring the use of a computer or similar electronic device.

d). The interview is expected to last for approximately 1 hour and will start with an
informal presentation of your career in structural engineering. This should last
approximately 10 to 15 minutes. You will not be permitted to use any electronic aids
when making your presentation, however, it is expected that you will make use some
of the documents that you have brought to the interview.

Onus is on you to demonstrate that you have achieved the required level of
attainment in each of the 12/13 core objectives
The questioning will normally focus on areas of doubt
The Reviewers will assess whether:
You have satisfied each of the core objectives. (If you fail one objective, you
fail the Interview)
You are working at an appropriate level
You have commitment to CPD

e). You will be required to pass the interview (which is the first stage of the Professional
Review) before you will be permitted to proceed to the second and final stage of the
Professional Review, the AM/CM Examination (not relevant to candidates applying
for Technician Membership).

f). I wish to make it absolutely clear that neither of the reviewers (or the coordinator) will
be permitted to give you any indication of the outcome of the interview, at any stage.
You will be advised of the outcome in writing by the Institution secretariat, normally
before the Christmas break.

g). Ensure that you take your portfolio/s of work with you when you leave following the
Interview.
