To research, learn, and describe the events that make up the American Revolution in a
visual presentation.
By the end of the activity, students should have a clear understanding of the events that
took place during the American Revolution and why it is important today. With the help of
their presentation, they will have a visual representation that they can use in the future.

5- U3.2.4 Describe the significance of the Treaty of Paris (establishment of the United
States and its boundaries)
Divided into groups, students will be asked to research the American Revolution.
The presentation will show the timeline of events that occurred during the revolution.
They will focus on the events that lead to the revolution, as well as importance of the
events (such as Valley Forge, Battle of Saratoga, and Battle of Yorktown and the Treaty
of Paris). Another important aspect that they will focus on is the people- women, African
Americans, American Indians, and France during this time.
After they have completed the presentation, they will share with one to two other groups
before taking a final assessment to check their understanding of the topic.
With the help of the presentation that they have created, they will take a google forms
quiz, individually, that displays their understanding of the topic and the quality of their
work. The questions follow the guidelines of the assignment as well as cover the social
studies standards that are required for their grade level. Based off the students overall
performance, it will then be determined if the material needs to be covered again in more
depth.
Personal reflection (discuss how the activity you designed covers TPACK/SAMR
principles):
This activity includes the SAMR principles as it uses technology in a way that expands
the students understanding of the topic. Many of the aspects of the SAMR use online
tools as a way to go beyond the typical classroom books and note takers to interact with
the school work. The activities allow for students to use multiple tools and find which one
works best for them.
