CHAPTER-1
1.Abstract
The aim of this web application is that candidate Rock out while youre at work. Kick back and

live DJs take care of the mix. Songs is sure to have something to fit your every mood, or
something to change it. Create playlists and enjoy them whenever and wherever. Store has lots of
ways to help you find music youll love. Top charts, new music recommendations based on your
past purchases. As soon as you hear a song you like, just ask What song is this? to find out the
artist, track, album, and more. You can purchase the song immediately from our Store. Or you
can add it to your Wish List so you can buy it later.
The key to success in today a complex IT environment is the ability to manage the project
effectively and efficient. I am creating an interactive music app, which based on user feedback will
play the type of music that you, the user wants to hear. Multiple personal stations can be created
and fine tuned to a wide variety of musical tastes.

Music App
1.1 Introduction
Music app will allow the user will be able to have finer control in the creation of their
personal music stations. Being able to directly add specific artists and hopefully change things such
as tempo, year produced, style elements along with the standard way of just adding/removing
artists one likes. I would also like to incorporate a wide variety of music, not just popular songs,
with a focus on electronic music. In summary a simple way for people to listen to the music they
like.
It allows you to listen to music that is similar to your own interests, and it's an easy way to find
new songs and artists that you enjoy. It provides a large variety of artists, albums and genres to
listen to. You can also listen to pre-created playlists or create your own. You can search for playlists
by genre, artist and even mood or activity. You can listen to all of the newest releases and some of
your favorite oldies, and you can play all of your tunes on your computer and most mobile devices.
You can look for music in numerous languages, and this service is compatible with most devices.
Unfortunately, there are only two payment options and you must download the tracks within 48
hours if you want to enjoy your music without paying again.
If you dont pay for the service, you can only listen to your favorite tunes or playlists while
connected to the internet. If you pay for a subscription from the service, you can enjoy many
additional benefits including ad-free listening and the ability to listen to playlists offline.

You can also view all of your recently added and recently downloaded music, which allows you to
view all of your new tunes in one place without searching through numerous playlists.

1.4 Existing System
The existing system work manually. The existing system has got lot of intricacies
within itself and need lot of human effort and paper works. All above the data need to be
maintained on ledgers and maintaining this is a tedious and risky process.
Course of action is time consuming. Wherever a need for search arises, the process
evolves search through paper records.
Readability of records is constrained. All the records may not b e h a n dl ed
o r w r i t t en b y t h e s a m e p e r s on . S o t h e f o r m a t a nd style of records
differ and hence it is difficult to understand.
P a pe r r e c o rds a r e e a s i l y d a m a ge d i n c o u r s e o f t im e . Th e l i f e
time of paper record is unreliable less that it easily gets spoiled.
Expenditure is high. Manual system needs added man power.
1.5 Proposed System:

The proposed system is a computerized one. This has greater accuracy and efficiency. This
takes only limited time for calculation. The proposed system can be used to maintain efficiently

The project is being developed for Hash InfoTech for online music apps. Our e -
Music web based project stands as the only digital music service 100% that is
focused on serving the needs of i n d e pe n d en t mu s i c f an s a n d i nd e p en dent
l a b e l s . E - Mu s i c ( on l i n e music app) is among the top digital music services,
offering a diverse cat a log of over a lot of tracks from established and emerging artists in every
genre

beyond the commercial mainstream in every genre, including rock, j a z z , c om e d y,
h i p - h o p , bl u es , c l as s i ca l , c ou nt r y, f o l k , ch i l dr e n ' s music, electronic,
world, reggae and more. Unlike so much of today's commercial Top 40, independent music
is simply about great music. Top independent artists include familiar names.
Our main objective is to provide high quality of music, HD quality, original songs, latest & most
viewed song. Our website contains audio and video songs. We provide one month free services
after that user have to pay for it. Our website provides top albums, top playlist, popular artist,
hits from songs, flashback.
1.7 MODULE EXPLENATION
This website is providing music and songs which are provided by the other websites but in
includes some extra features which are not provided by most of the music app and websites.
There are three modules in this project.

ADMIN MODULE
After log on, admin have administrative privilege. He can delete, update item check
transaction within time and manage songs.
If any person wants to register for a membership the admin can allow for registration and save
all they information as given by the user in a separate space and keep it secure. He may also
allow to user to listen audio and video songs. He updates the database and uploading task like
audio and video songs. Perform adding and updating songs, album and category. Manage
transaction, subscription, package assignment and management.
USER MODULE
User have all at of function in this module. In this module user can listening songs, search songs,
make wish list, give massage to admin, update profile etc.
The user is usually a person who wishes to register as a member he/she may login and can takes
free services for one month after that pay for it. He/she may play music also create wish list.
He/she may use all the services provided in this website and give feedback and rating.
VISITOR MODULE
E-Music leads for number of unique visitors. Vistitors can do rating and also subscribe most like
songs.
Visitor can view our website and music but not play. Visitor cannot play without registration.

3.1 TECHNOLOGY USED
Introduction(Front End)
PHP
3.1.1 Introduction
PHP started out as a small open source project that evolved as more and more people found out
how useful it was. Rasmus Lerdorf unleashed the first version of PHP way back in 1994. Java is an
object-oriented programming language with a built-in application programming interface (API)
that can handle graphics and user interfaces and that can be used to create applications or applets.
Because of its rich set of API's, similar to Macintosh and Windows, and its platform independence,
Java can also be thought of as a platform in itself. Java also has standard libraries for doing
mathematics.
PHP is a recursive acronym for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor". PHP is a server side scripting
language that is embedded in HTML. It is used to manage dynamic content, databases, session
tracking, even build entire ecommerce sites. It is integrated with a number of popular databases,
including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, and Microsoft SQL Server. PHP is
pleasingly zippy in its execution, especially when compiled as an Apache module on the UNIX
side. The MySQL server, once started, executes even very complex queries with huge result sets in
record-setting time.PHP supports a large number of major protocols such as POP3, IMAP, and
LDAP. PHP4 added support for Java and distributed object architectures (COM and CORBA),
making n-tier development a possibility for the first time.PHP is forgiving: PHP language tries to
be as forgiving as possible.PHP Syntax is C-Like
3.1.2 Why PHP?
PHP runs on various platforms (Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mac OS X, etc.)
PHP is compatible with almost all servers used today (Apache, IIS, etc.)
PHP supports a wide range of databases.
PHP is free to download.
PHP is easy to learn and runs efficiently on the server side.
3.1.3 Advantages of PHP

The popularity of PHP is growing rapidly because of its many advantages:
Its fast. Because it is embedded in HTML code, the response time is short.
Its inexpensive free, in fact. PHP is proof that free lunches do exist and that you can
get more than you paid for.
Its easy to use. PHP contains many special features and functions needed to create
dynamic web pages. The PHP language is designed to be included easily in an HTML file.
It can run on many operating systems. It runs on a variety of operating systems
Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and most varieties of Unix.
Technical support is widely available. A large base of users provides free support through
e-mail discussion lists.
Its secure. The user does not see the PHP code.
Its designed to support databases. PHP includes functionality designed to interact with
specific databases. It relieves you of the need to know the technical details required to
communicate with a database.
Its customizable. The open source license allows programmers to modify the PHP
software, adding or modifying features as needed to fit their own specific environments.
3.1.4 HTML
HTML is a Hyper Text Markup Language used for describing web documents.
- A markup language is a set of markup tags.

- HTML documents are described by HTML tags.
- Each HTML tag describes different document content
HTML is a language with specific syntax that instructs a Web browser how to display a page. Once
again, HTML separates "content" (words, images, audio, video, and so on) from "presentation"
(instructions for displaying each type of content).
HTML uses a pre-defined set of elements to define content types. Elements contain one or more
"tags" that contain or express content. Tags are enclosed by angle brackets, and the closing tag
begins with a forward slash.
JavaScript
JavaScript is the programming language of HTML and the Web.
Programming makes computers do what you want them to do.
JavaScript is easy to learn.
JavaScript is one of the 3 languages all web developers must learn:
1. HTML to define the content of web pages
2. CSS to specify the layout of web pages
3. JavaScript to program the behavior of web pages
JavaScript can be placed in the <body> and the <head> sections JavaScript code must be inserted
between <script> and </script> tags.
3.1.5 JavaScript Functions and Events
A JavaScript function is a block of JavaScript code that can be executed when "asked" for.
For example, a function can be executed when an event occurs, like when the user clicks a button.
3.2 Introduction(Back End):
MY SQL
Introduction
MySQL is a relational database management system (RDBMS), which has more than 11 million
installations. The program runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases.
MySQL is owned and sponsored by a single for-profit firm, the Swedish company MySQL AB,
now a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, which holds the copyright to most of the codebase. The
project's source code is available under terms of the GNU General Public License, as well as under
a variety of proprietary agreements.
"MySQL" is officially pronounced /maskjul/, not "My sequel" /masikwl/. This adheres to
the official ANSI pronunciation; SEQUEL was an earlier IBM database language, a predecessor to
the SQL language. The company does not take issue with the pronunciation "My sequel" or other
local variations.
Uses
MySQL is popular for web applications and acts as the database component of the LAMP, BAMP,
MAMP, and WAMP platforms (Linux/BSD/Mac/Windows-Apache-MySQL-PHP/Perl/Python),
and for open-source bug tracking tools like Bugzilla. Its popularity for use with web applications is
closely tied to the popularity of PHP and Ruby on Rails, which are often combined with MySQL.
PHP and MySQL are essential components for running popular content management systems such
as Drupal, e107, Joomla!, WordPress and some Bit Torrent trackers. Wikipedia runs on Media Wiki
web application, which is written in PHP and uses a MySQL database.
MySQL is a fast, easy-to-use RDBMS being used for many small and big businesses. MySQL is
developed, marketed, and supported by MySQL AB, which is a Swedish company. MySQL is
becoming so popular because of many good reasons:
MySQL is released under an open-source license. So you have nothing to pay to use it.
MySQL is a very powerful program in its own right. It handles a large subset of the
functionality of the most expensive and powerful database packages.
MySQL uses a standard form of the well-known SQL data language.
MySQL works on many operating systems and with many languages including PHP, PERL,
C, C++, JAVA, etc.
MySQL works very quickly and works well even with large data sets.
MySQL is very friendly to PHP, the most appreciated language for web development.
MySQL supports large databases, up to 50 million rows or more in a table. The default file
size limit for a table is 4GB, but you can increase this (if your operating system can handle
it) to a theoretical limit of 8 million terabytes (TB).
MySQL is customizable. The open-source GPL license allows programmers to modify the
MySQL software to fit their own specific environments.

3.3 MODEL USED FOR THE PROPOSED SYSTEM

WATERFALL MODEL PROCESS
Waterfall model is a very common software development process model. In this model the
process is structured as cascade of phase, where the output one phase makes the input to the next
one each.
ANALYSIS
In the analysis process we gathered all the information about the requirement of the music
website. The information domain for the project is knowledge based to be developed which
contain all the information about the respective queries. The features that should be included in
our website are based on the feature on the net. We have studied all the available sites that are
basically developed to provide technical support to the user. We have tried to provide user
support for their convenience.
DESIGN
The design part gives the complete structure of the architecture, interface, representation and
procedural detail of the system.
CODE GENERATION
The code will be generated at the platform of PHP we use my SQL server to handle database
connectivity.
TESTING
The testing will be done after code generation by our management team that includes all the
process that tested the working of our system.
WHY MODEL WAS CHOOSE? :

The Waterfall Model was first Process Model to be introduced. It is also referred to as a linear-
sequential life cycle model. It is very simple to understand and use. In a waterfall model, each
phase must be completed before the next phase can begin and there is no overlapping in the
phases.

TESTING
Testing is very vital for any system to be successfully implemented. The common view is that it is
performed to prove that there are no errors in a program. Therefore the most useful and practical
approach is with the explicit intention of finding the errors. The system is tested experimentally to
ensure that the software does not fail. The system is run according to its specifications and in the
way the user expects. Following testing practices are used. The system will process as normal input
preparation of test-sample data.
The purpose of testing is to identify and correct errors in the candidate system. As important as this
phase is it is one that is frequently compromised. Testing is vital to the success of the system. System
testing makes a logical assumption that if all part of the system is correct the goal will be successfully
achieved.
Inadequate testing or no testing leads to errors that may not appear until months later. A small system
error can explode into a much large problem. Effective testing early in the process translate directly
into long-term cost saving from a reduce number of errors.
This software is tested module by module; the relationship between modules and the software is
validated against preset objectives.
Black box testing or fundamental testing has been used in testing phase of this project. In this, the
structure of the program is considered. Test cases are decided solely on the basis of the requirements
or specifications of the program or module and the internals of the modules or the program are
considered for selection of the test cases.
Levels of Testing: -
In this software mainly three types of testing is used: -
System testing starts by testing program individually. A program module may work perfectly well in
isolation but may fail when interfaced with other modules. The approach is to test each entity with
successively larger ones, system testing consist of following steps:
4.1. Unit testing:
An individual program must compile and test data correctly and also bond with other programs in
order to run
Satisfactory program testing checks for two type of errors: syntax and logical.
A syntax error in program occurs when a statement in a program breaks one or more rules of the
language in whitch it is coded.common syntax errors include an improperly define field dimension
or ommited keywords.
A logical errors deal with invalid data fields, out-of-range items and other incorrect data
combination. Since logical error is not detected by the system, the programmer must carefully study
the output for finding the same.
4.2. Integration testing:
In this type of testing all constituent programs should work properly. Programs are invariably related
to one another and interact with the other system. Each program is tested as a combined
manner.each program of the System is tested against the entire module with both artificial and real
data.
4.3. System testing:
System testing is done to find out those imperfection that were not found in tests conduct earlier.
This include forced system failure and validation of total system as it will be put to use by its user In
the actual working environment.
The system is also tested for backup and recovery procedure .
4.4. Acceptance testing:
This testing involves running the system with live data by actual user. This is done to familiarize the
user with the validity and reliability of the system. As user motivation and knowledge are important
for the successful performance and implementation of the system. The significance of user
acceptance testing cannot be over tested.
A comprehensive test report is prepared after testing. This report is tested the systems tolerance,
performance range, error rate accuracy.
4.5 System Maintenance & Evaluation
4.5.1 Maintenance
After the system was installed it was continuously analyzed for defects, errors &
compatibility problems. In case of an error or problem, it was rectified on the spot or within an
acceptable time frame.
4.5.2 Evaluation
In todays world, none of the system is completely perfect. As the various requirements of
user keeps on changing, the software needs to be further modified.
