The U.S. Role in Changing the World

The United States plays a huge role in changing the world, whether thats making

changes or improving things for the better. The U.S. role in changing the world involves many

things, they need to balance domestic needs, economic, political, cultural and social problems

(1). Along with its own issues, the United States also takes role in other countries, it has a

national relationship. There are many problems that occur all around the world, like terrorism

(violence), humanity, and tyrannical governments that use fear to maintain authority, which the

U.S. has to take initiative of and somehow prevent it. There are many strategies that the U.S.

follows to stay as one of the most advanced countries in the world. Therefore the role that theyre

in charge of is very important.

Even though the United States has impacted the world in many things , U.S.

global role has declined since the last Americas Place in the World study in 2013 (2, Pew

Research Center). Many American citizens have complained about this because the U.S. hasnt

taken action to solve world problems or anything globally. However, the United States has been

one of the most influential and powerful country.

Through the years, the U.S. has grown exponentially in migration, global power, etc.

According to the article, during the Spanish-American War, the United States expanded

westward across the continent (2). According to the article, Americans Deeply Divided on U.S.

Role in the World, Americans are more inward looking today on foreign policy issues than they

have been at any time in the last half century. (1, Bruce Stokes). The foreign policy has grown

because of the high expectations that came from its economic growth. Ever since the United

States has had to take action and get more involved in world affairs. During this time, the

Caribbean region attracted the U.S. attention because it could take over that region to protect its

own shores and routes for shipping along with transportation. At the time, the U.S. found a lot of

natural resources that would put them at an advantage economically. A couple of those goods

were sugar, coffee and plantations. The U.S. impacted not only the Caribbean region but the

European colonialism, imperialism opposition also grew because of this. The United States had a

huge influence in globalization, from this countries have benefited from the exposure of their

own natural resources that have made them expand on their production worldwide. Many

companies, whether theyre small or huge companies have access to much larger markets and to

buyers they didnt have access to before. (18). This comes to show that market have been

expanding and growing economically due to the innovation that is still going on today.
