Do all of these steps in ORDER in your GoogleDocs (save in Classroom).
We start on Monday, the complete assignment is due on Tuesday.
STEP 1 (Monday in class)
A. Open this file in Google Classroom
B. Answer the following questions in one paragraph thoroughly on this form prior to the skills test:
What is your personal capital? What are your strengths, skills, passion, purpose? What evidence you have that these things exist?
My strengths in my own opinion is that no matter what I am failing I
never seem to given up, I push until I reach my goal. My passion is to hopefully one day to become a correctional officer. My purpose is to work hard in my young years so when I decide to have a family of my own they wont have to go through any types of struggles I have been through with my family. Evidence I have to prove all of this is that even though I miss a lot of school days from my illness I still am determined to pass all my classes.
What is your intellectual capital? What is your expertise in one or two
subjects or skills? (These do not have to be exclusively academic subjects) What evidence do you have that you are an expert in these fields?
Some knowledge that I have in one subject would definitely be
economics. I say economics because it relates to everyones everyday life and I find that so interesting. Another would be I am a very hard worker. Evidence I have to prove is that knowing I was working a little less than a month I adapted fast and got the hang of it. The manager and the owner of the store made it a point to appreciate me for my hard work.
Where do you see yourself in September of next year?
By next September of next year I see myself working and going to
schooling. Meanwhile also working out and preparing for when I turn 21 to become a correctional officer. My most important goal is to make sure I get all my studies done and be done with my AA.
STEP 2 (Monday in class):
a. Go to the following site and take the strengths assessment:
List your top 5 strengths with a brief summary of what each strength means:
1. My first top strength was communication. In my own opinion I
believe this means to take full control. To maybe also have clarification of other things. For example if I dont understand something I will speak up to ask for help. Or if someone doesnt understand something I will be first to help them out and explain whats going on. 2.The second top strength was leadership. I think I scored strong in leadership because I am one to get things moving and to be on task. I dont really like to be supervised when I am on a certain task unless I need help. Unless I need help is where my first strength comes in which is communication. 3.My third strength was faith. I believe one if not everyone should have faith to push them forward. I have faith to make efforts to discover my true passion and tie it to my own work. I have a lot of faith because if I didnt I feel I would fail at things. Faith keeps me a strong individual. 4.Another strength of mine was optimism. I dont lose hope very easy, it takes me a while to finally give up after I exhaust every opportunity. I am very confident in everything I do, and put my mind to. I am always willing to help others and do whatever I can to satisfy others. 5.The last top strength I have is adaptability. I am a fast learner at things and get the job done thoroughly. I focus on many quick jobs. I rather much focus on quick task than long drawn out assignments.
List your top weakness with a brief summary of that weakness:
1.My top weakness is resourcefulness. I thrive on responsibility. I thrive
in many situations where many things are happening at the same time. I also in a way seek them as well. Occasionally I reject working with someone who I believe is dishonest or a shoddy worker.
STEP 4 (Tuesday in class):
In narrative form, thoroughly describe what you discovered about
yourself from this strength assessment. Did you know your strengths and weakness or did you discover something new? What was it and how are you going to apply it? This portion is due in a separate document to turnitin.com by Wednesday, February 15th.
