Monday evening, under the Memorial Field lights and rain, prior
to the last home game of the season, each senior was introduced
with their parents and other family members. The players presented
flowers to their mothers and an engraved medallion to their fathers.
For those who have seen their children play sports growing up, for
many this marks a change where practice schedules and games no
longer rule the calendar attached to the refrigerator door. Every adult
that provides the support needed for young people to play sports and
promotes the social development that team sports builds needs a
