learning about air and making bubbles. "I can make big bubbles and small bubbles!" "Look I caught a bubble!" "The bubbles have air in them!" "No matter what shape wand we use, the bubbles are always round!" In Science, The Puppies (PreK3) are fishing with magnets. The magnet catches/is attracted to some items, but not all. In Science, The Puppies (PreK3s) are learning about sink and float. In Science, The Jellyfish (Prek4s) are closely observing a giant log that Mr. McCarthy keeps in his office! In Science, the Jellyfish (PreK4s) set up and started a worm compost for our Science classroom. Guests from The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens came to check in on them, share some information and answer many of the students' interesting questions. In Science, The Jellyfish (PreK4s) are closely observing, matching and sorting beautiful shells and coral that were brought back from Cuba by the grandmother of one of the students. During our study of The Senses, Sight in particular, Kindergarten students excitedly read 3D books! During our study of Germs, Kindergarten students swabbed their hands, then watched the bacteria growth in petri dishes. They also swabbed other locations such as the floor, the sink, the doorknob, a toilet, the bottom of shoes, a table, a chair, and so on. Can you guess where we found the most bacteria? The sink! During our Egg Study, Kindergarten students "dissected" unfertilized chicken eggs. They excitedly shouted out as they located various parts such as the yolk, the albumen, the chalazae and the egg cell. First Grade students loved making their own slime during our study of Matter. First Grade Students can make water walk! We love our live specimens! Look at this adorable stick insect! Our super scientists like this First Grade Student, are always gentle and kind with the live animals in our Science room. Second Grade students successfully and happily met the challenge during their Structures Unit. Using a limited amount of straws and tape, students were to build a free standing structure at least one meter tall. Second Grade students constructed bridges that could hold a certain amount of tiles and that would allow boats to pass under. These students are celebrating their success! As part of our Structures Unit, Second Grade students built nkajis similar to the ones our friends in Nydono Wasin live
